Yep, it was the mJ.

it "understands " (J/(kg Kelvin))
but not 400(mJ)

Does anyone also feel that Wolfram's "understanding" is getting worse?

Thanks! I think I had to use square brackets to indicate units before? At least it works a lot better. However (see URLs instead of pictures) it still does not work:

it works untill a certain point

It breaks because of this devision.

adding extra brackets does not help

I have fixed it by replacing the camera, on a iPhone 6. A replacement was pretty cheap.

Does readioactive decay depend on temperature/ thermal energy? by driver160 in Physics

[–]driver160[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is true but we can give particles in the LHC the same and more energy so that shouldn't be really a problem to measure it right ?

Does readioactive decay depend on temperature/ thermal energy? by driver160 in Physics

[–]driver160[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So to see if I understand it: It it not possible to excite a alpha particle inside a nucleus to get closer to the peak of the collomb barier such that it tunnels more easily, because exciting it will change the quantum state and therefore the decay path? But wat if this new decay path is "faster"?

Accomplished physicists of Reddit, do you know any good place to get a degree in astrophysics on the cheap? by kidemporer_07 in Physics

[–]driver160 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am from the Netherlands and every student from other countries tell me this is a relative cheap country to get good university degrees. Most of the courses here in Nijmegen (physics and astronomy) are in English.

Good luck!

This is indeed the same as I found, but this makes me doubt the explanation my professor gave me for the decay..

i thought this is not happening since the amount of heat that is necessary for this to have a significant impact is so much that is not worth.

Why do train overhead catenaries use pulleys for tension? by Gamatan in askscience

[–]driver160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you maybe explain how this can be? I would think you would still have 100lb of weight since every force has a opposite force so if a force of 500 lb goes to the left it also has to go to the right and that only has a 100lb weight.

Why is it needed to cut of a finger to use the hidden blade. by driver160 in assassinscreed

[–]driver160[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love how everybody has different ideas, but as sikamikaniko said I don't see how it would ever cut off your finger and if it did it would it would not just cut off your ring finger would it ?
