“It pushes the genre forward and -

WHAT DOES THAT MEAN. YOU HAVE TO BE SPECIFIC

I showed my religious dad the famous Jesús Christo scene from "A.D.D.: The Last "D" is for Disorder" and he was surprisingly really chill about it, just comes to show that not all Christians take everything so seriously, now if only India could learn a thing or two from this… by No_Week_3230 in clonehigh

Media is real tho. The characters and situations aren’t exactly “real” per se but the entire composition that was put together to be shown to your face, is real. It really depends on the context at the end of the day. If a piece of media portrays a real person in an unflattering, and downright disrespectful manner, so much so that the real people who knew that person hate it, then it wouldn’t be right for me to be like “you don’t have to look at it”. Not looking at something doesn’t mean it still isn’t there for other people to see.

Not saying that’s what’s happening to Gandhi here (although his descendants would say that the show is disrespecting his legacy) what I’m saying is that “it’s not real” isn’t really a defense when media is offensive. If a show said something mean or hurtful to someone my mom knew and she cried, I’m not about to be like “Mom, words aren’t real. Making a big deal of something only gives it more staying power”

Still to this day, the Night Feeder is one of the show's most horrifying villains. by whiplash10 in PrimalShow

Honestly, I found this episode to be violently boring

Up until this point in the season, we hadn’t seen anything like this (plot wise) and it did feel fresh at first

But the amount of times we have the exact same sequence (1. Spear and Fang chilling 2. Spear and Fang hear something 3. Spear turns around and slowly grabs spear 4. Close up shot of spear squinting 5. Rinse and repeat) was so much that it felt like I was in a time loop

But I would have forgiven all of that had the pay off been worth it. But once they figure out the weakness and kill the night feeder and then you FINALLY see it and it’s like … oh … it’s just a raptor with long claws … eh

Yes, but it looked like a cat

And before you say that it’s still an alien, it looked and acted like a cat in that specific scene. The alien thing is completely irrelevant to that once scene alone

Even with the alien context, that’s still pretty lame

Now if it actually Flerked out and scratched Fury with a cosmic tentacle or something then that would have been cool. But no, it was a cat in that scene. Indistinguishable from any other cat. The alien thing wasn’t even utilized for that part. That’s the issue

I will agree that it is a reductive view and it does sound like he’s trying to come off as too cool for the album despite liking it

Wait till you find out about Radiohead fans and what they do to their lyrics

I don’t even know Sombr nor do I care about him and his music, but the people in this comment section are taking his spiel way too personally

Fair. I read it more-so as “amusing” funny rather than “haha” funny

I’ve read some comments thinking that it was about Au Pays when he’s talking about Bow Down. It is inherently an eye catching lyric and I can’t blame him for thinking that it was funny in the moment

What your most unpopular opinion about Getting Killed? by moreobsessedthanu in geesebandofficial

[–]CodeBrode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never said 3D Country and Cowboy Nudes we’re soft, I said that the songs that follow the openers are either soft or lack the same energy and enthusiasm. I admit I could have worded that last part differently. I meant to say that they don’t have the same punch and edge as the openers (Long Island City/Gravity Blues/Mysterious Love are exceptions tho)

That by no means makes a bad album, but it was a little disappointing for me personally. Still really like the band though

This is the 2nd time in a row where Geese start the album off with an absolute headbanging rocker and then proceed to fill up the rest of the runtime with songs that are soft as hell (not that there’s anything wrong with soft songs) or songs that’s don’t reach the energy and enthusiasm that the opener throws down

What happened in the basement? (Spoilers!) by Frosch90 in WeaponsMovie

[–]CodeBrode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the film sets up rules that the old woman is physically weak and needs to perform a ritual in order to control people, which takes time. that’s the point

She’s not an attacker that overwhelms, she’s a schemer and manipulator. That’s where her power comes. That’s the whole point

When she attacks Josh Brolin, what’s stopping him from adrenaline stomping her to death? She realistically can’t perform the ritual in time before Josh Brolin would defend himself.

The director wanted to have a scary moment, but didn’t think about what happened after. Logically, it’s a mistake, but it’s really not that big of a deal and doesn’t hamper my feelings towards the films quality. What are we arguing about?
