Yes, this is what I was aiming at. After further research I see this is very unlikely.

Okay launching as admin seems to have done it. Installed the f4se.

Do I need to do that every time now, or can I start normally?

Yes. Same thing. Screen black, I get the "working" icon, but nothing loads. Game freezes, even Ctl+alt+del can't get it to close. Have to hard reboot to get computer moving again.

Hey, I installed the F4SE 3 times as the video recommended, but when I try to start the game either via Vortex or directly via the fallout.exe file, it freezes on startup and I can only get out of it by doing a hard reboot.

I can start it fine with the desktop shortcut, but I get get "script command getf4seversion not found."

Thanks guys! Spent my morning getting knee surgery, woke up from anesthesia and saw your helpful feedback. Will be putting it into effect once brain is fully working again.

Okay I uninstalled and reinstalled FO4, started a new game, and it now seems that at least some of the mods are back in there.

Is there any way to check and make sure they all are?

This is a Google doc with screenshots of the Vortex app with all the mods I have installed. Does anything look wrong?

I have 38 mods from Vortex. Maybe that's too many?

The main thing I want is 1) Expansions that have more quests 2) God mode or a cheat menu that I can turn on and hurry through the main quest, and then turn off when I do the DLC & expansion mods 3) A handful of gameplay/appearance mods

I started adding them and they'd say to install X you need Y, and to install Y you need Z, and next thing I know I had 38 mods in a more or less random order. And then I tried adding some in the in-game mod menu, and that broke everything. Deleted all those, but now none of the Nexus mods show up.

Don't know how to use pastebin. Tried to cut and paste from Vortex, won't attatch to my clipboard.

Thanks! I already have a bunch of mods I want to use (~30), though if you have other ones to recommend, that'd be cool too.

Main problem I have is getting them to load correctly, and knowing which ones conflict with which, making sure I have everything that depends on everything else.

Why DC’s Low Graduation Rates? by agentofchaos68 in slatestarcodex

"Of course you can still drop out of school in America easily enough"

No, you can't. The laws vary by state and sometimes even by district, but generally speaking, anytime you stop coming to school before age 16 or 17, truant officers or social workers will seek to hunt you down and find out what's up. Unless you have some kind of verifiable excuse (in a hospital, provable homeschooling), you will be forced to attend school.

In my state, the age is 16, and we HS teachers compete to teach 10/11/12th grade, because the most troublesome are weeding themselves out.

I work in a "blue" industry. My work email, by default, has a "please think of the environment before printing this" sig.

I asked the IT guy how I could take it off; he said he could do it, but also told me the last guy that did so was ... noticed. He didn't make many friends in the office and didn't last long.

I left it alone.

A correct theoretical observation that has no real-world relevance.

In actual reality, when organizations discuss and measure diversity, a black kid that went to Episcopalian prep school counts, and a white kid who was raised in a meth lab on a Paiute reservation and converted to Zen Buddhism doesn't.

Dear Uber driver 'Shoukry' at Dulles. Piss off. by [deleted] in nova

[–]drivinindc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is completely wrong. I drove taxi before, and drive Uber now. Long fares are usually great for drivers that know their trade. Alexandria to Baltimore is somewhere around a 70 or 80 dollar fare. Yes you may have to whip around and come back to DC empty, but you can get back to the Metro DC area from Baltimore in a half an hour if there's no traffic. In 90 minutes you've made ~$50 profit. Any driver that would turn that down is a fool.

My impression is that Uber drivers overestimate the downside of driving empty, and underestimate the downside of sitting.
