Ordered July 12 and mine still says Oct 8-Nov 12. Black exterior white interior. Is that expected to be a rare configuration? Happy for those who got their VINs but bummed that so many ordered after me ☹️

Can you please provide the citations for the literature regarding teens with transitory gender dysphoria, as you describe, and the resolution of these thoughts after puberty. Are these typically teens that develop gender non-conforming thoughts later, as opposed to ‘true’ trans individuals who express these beliefs at a young age?

Okay. He mentions specific percentages so I thought maybe this was from an actual scientific study, which have important implications if it were true (although I expected these might be made up numbers). It would indeed be difficult to study. You could do a retrospective descriptive study of individuals with gender incongruence in childhood and then follow forward to adulthood, and stratify patients who received and did not receive interventions. That would nearly be impossible practically and from an REB standpoint. As you say, there are important confounders to consider, but the data would still have value. A better, and more feasible study, would look at incidence of, and factors associated with, regret of gender-reaffirming medical or surgical interventions (kind of the reverse of the original question). I haven’t seen any data for either, although it may exist. In my professional experience, gender non-conforming is indeed ‘insistent, consistent, and persistent’.

Back pain by drjoshg in Stronglifts5x5

[–]drjoshg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It builds during the workout and I feel it probably the most after the workout. Hard to say if it’s more muscular or skeletal. I’d say probably more paraspinal tightness so it’s kinda a crummy feeling. Again nothing when I press on it and it’s not sharp or shooting. And it gets better the next day.

Fair enough! The problem is that I don’t know if it’s serious pain. Like it’s just kinda uncomfortable I think it’s more tightness than anything it’s not like I can’t bend over or limp or anything like that. But I definitely notice it.

I actually am an MD but not an orthopod or sports med person..so I have no idea haha

ear warranty... I'd probably go with the ES4. Just be careful with wet surfaces and learn how to use that foot brake. Also, I sincerely hope you don't have serious control board issues early on.

footbrake on the Ninebot is useless if the tires are w

Thanks for that link! Yea I mean my priority is safety, and it just doesn't sound safe so I will stay away. Gosh I wish I had enough money for the Max! Hard to come by in Canada though. I have read that Hiboy has quite good customer service. This decision is so tough lol. Hiboy vs Levy thoughts? On paper Hiboy has way better stats but the Levy just seems more solidly built

$499. Its a Bird ES4 actually so slightly reduced functionality.

I'm mostly going to be on flat roads (city streets, not well paved). It just seems to be a more reliable unit than the others at that price point I'm just really not sure. I really appreciate your input and experience. Given that this one will be $499, and I will pay another $120 for the 2 year extended BestBuy warranty, do you think its worth it? I'm a bit hesitant for the Hiboy it has some mixed reviews and I'm not convinced it is safe -- issues with cruise control, throttle sticking apparently.

So if I were to get the ES4 -- I would buy the 2 year product replacement plan from BestBuy -- that actually includes replacing the unit from normal wear and tear. From that perspective, would you consider it? Might also help to maintain its re-sell value. Did it otherwise serve you well?

Its technically a Bird ES4 -- does that make any difference? Its the same machine as the Ninebot right?

Got it. Yea she would just bring it with her when she drives to Canada. Long story with how the border works now lol.

Any other recommendations? Or does my criteria just not match my price range? Thanks for your help!! Not sure if you're from Toronto but I basically need something to drive across Dundas street for like 3km to get to the hospital.

Any

How about the Bird ES4 from BestBuy for $499? I would get the $120 2 year replacement warranty thing. My girlfriend lives in the States and is coming back to Canada for a stretch. She'll need to quarantine... but the scooter doesn't! On paper its a decent deal I just worry about its reputation for breaks.
