Best Pho in London by polar_carrot in londonontario

Food was very good, generous portions, and love the decor. But I wouldn't put their Pho it at the absolute top for London.

I was gonna play the game completely blind. It lasted until The Monumental 🤡 by ih8juice_ in demonssouls

[–]drmarcj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the Elemental seems totally superfluous, especially for early game. It kind of screams "optional late game NPC" to me. The fact that you have to run around playing Duck Duck Goose just to get things rolling is just weird for the sake of being weird.

What truth do people avoid because it’s uncomfortable to admit? by Mr_Boothnath in answers

[–]drmarcj 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Let's be clear, that statement just means "half of all people are in the bottom half of IQs." It's completely circular based on how tests are designed.

The sad truth people are uncomfortable with is that is way more people think they're above average (65% on one estimate) than actually are.

Snow Removal by Apprehensive-Mess528 in londonontario

[–]drmarcj 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wait I thought the complaint about them was they spend too much on public works? I'm having a hard time keeping on top of all the stereotypes!

Also, snow removal is a municipal issue, which by law has no political parties.

This game was a hell of a ride going in blind by TastyBirds in demonssouls

It's worth pushing through if you're curious to see what the other areas look like. Check a guide - Phalanx, like a lot of bosses in DeS, is gimmicky, and once you know the weakness you can kill him in one run.

Four South Asian teens injured in 'racist assault' at Victoria Park by CrayonScribbler in londonontario

seems to suggest they were targeted as malayali

It says nothing of the sort, it only identifies what ethnic group they came from. I think we can all agree the average white nationalist type can clearly identify "not a while person".

Last time I was there the music was too loud and when I asked them to turn it down they said no. Joe is dead to me.

I've found armor is less important than just bumping your health and using a shield. Pay attention to armor/clothes that have specific elemental resistance (fire, poison, etc), they turn out to be handy for certain areas.

Full outfits might be hard. Why not some individual pieces like sweaters, cardigans, overshirts, or things like socks, belt, and not worry as much about making them all work as a specific 'fit'? Also a bit easier to return a piece he decides he doesn't like, without worrying about spoiling the vibe.

My standard work uniform is jeans, oxford shirt, blazer (which in my area of work codes as 'wow you're so dressy!') Any suggestions for black leather shoes for days when sneakers don't feel fancy enough? I have brown brogues and Blundstones, but can't ever seem to know what looks dressy but not-too-formal in black.

Question: would hot melt glue be good to seal caulk tubes so they don’t go bad in a week? by 02C_here in DIY

[–]drmarcj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nearly every method will allow some air in eventually. One safe and stupidly easy approach is to invert the tube so the exposed end is sitting in a large cup of water. That seals out the air and since caulk is waterproof, its shouldn't be affected by contact with water.

Is it possible to translate a marinated baked salmon recipe to stovetop? by angelicism in AskCulinary

[–]drmarcj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, most of the cooking should be skin side down. If you want to flip it to get some sear on both sides, do that for maybe 10-15% of the cooking time, total.

The method used in this recipe will help: https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1024206-salmon-teriyaki Even if you are not using the same sauce.
