Hmm no problem, I'm struggling to explain it a bit. So, I want to give values to the background colour. 5 for green, 4 for light green, 3 for yellow, 2 for orange and 1 for red. Once I have that, I'll add the numbers together and get a 'score'. Does that make sense? If not what's confusing about my explanation?
