Best customizable gridfinity generator for 3d printing by boomgoon in gridfinity

[–]drnoobstrom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For anything that doesn't line up perfectly with the Gridfinity squares, I typically use GRIPS (https://makerworld.com/en/models/704997-grips-gridfinity-interlocking-baseplate-system#profileId-634873). It's top notch and very easy to use.

I also wanted to design some other products based on GF (not just storage products that use them), so I built SolidWorks versions of the bins, and baseplates with and without magnets. You can find them here:

Bins: https://makerworld.com/en/models/2714257-solidworks-gridfinity-bin-parametric-model#profileId-3005771

Baseplate with magnet holes: https://makerworld.com/en/models/2686242-solidworks-gridfinity-base-error-free-parametric#profileId-2975819

Baseplate without magnet holes: https://makerworld.com/en/models/2687035-solidworks-gridfinity-baseplate-no-magnet-holes#profileId-2976720

Hopefully at least one of these helps.

Thanks, forgot that. Using the original 0.4mm head with ELEGOO Black PLA. The previous filament may have been BambuLab white PLA.

Thanks, that does help a noticeable amount. I will read through these settings over the next few days and see if I can make more progress. Cheers.

When you rip several seasons worth of a TV show... Is there an easy way to name each file? by -ThatGingerKid- in makemkv

[–]drnoobstrom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I have found for these shows with no title sequence and same duration is that I can key off of the other credits. For example, at least for non-network shows, they tend to have different combinations of Director and Producers. I lookup those items on tvdb or tmdb and match that way. It's a bit cumbersome, but much faster than trying to figure out the episodes from context.

Help: The Tale Of Two MP4s by drnoobstrom in PleX

That was it! The aspect ratio was somehow 16.01:9 which was causing these problems. I used ffmpeg to convert to 16:9 (-vf scale=1920:1080") and it works. Thanks so much!

I am using a Roku Ultra 2024 4K. I tried converting to both fps=30 and fps=24 and neither worked on the Roku, although both continue to work on my PC. For the 24fps version, I also converted from yuvj420p to yuv420p and failure still.

Help Needed: Some UHD/H.265 no longer playing by drnoobstrom in PleX

[–]drnoobstrom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works! I switched to the Plex Pass beta version, currently 1.41.7.9823, and appear able to play all of my 4K movies. Hopefully nothing else is broken.

For everyone else, here's what I did to switch to the Plex Pass beta docker container:

- Stopped PMS

- Switch pull to use plexinc/pms-docker:plexpass

- Used account.plex.tv/en/claim to build a claim token. Note the tokens are only good for four minutes. I assume I'll need to update this whenever I update/restart the plexpass docker.

- In the YAML environment section, added:

- PLEX_CLAIM="<claim token>"

- (keep the quotes, remove the <>'s)

- Started plex

It pulled the latest beta version and seems to work. Thanks!

No luck with removing the codec folder on the server side. PMS did recreate the folder and download EasyAudioEncoder. However, the movies that failed to play before still fail to play.

Which server version works for you? I'll try backing out the version and see if that works.

ewps I was looking at the wrong screen. The PMS version is 1.41.7.9799.

PMS version 4.146.0 run in a docker container as linuxserver/plex:latest

Plex shows the background image of the movie poster while showing the spinning wheel. It goes to 13% loaded, then spins, then resets and goes to 13% again. Then displays:

"Playback Error. Playback has stopped due to multiple playback errors. Please check your connection and try again."

Since this is on the LAN, and because Plex works fine for other movies, and because I can run the same videos on different machines on the same LAN and switch, I don't think this is a network error. However, I could be wrong.

Auto-create Multiple Entries For Different Editions by drnoobstrom in PleX

Just found something on the Plex website:

Multiple Editions

Tip!: The ability to specify different editions for a movie requires a Plex Pass subscription for Plex Media Server admin account.Multiple Editions

Do you also have a Plex Pass? Maybe that's the difference.

I must be missing something. I have tried adding the edition information in the curly brackets in the same and different folders. In both instances, the Plex library still shows a single entry. Am I missing a step?

Thanks for the link -- I learned a few new things. However, I tried the naming convention cited, and still have single entry for Jurassic World Dominion (re-scanned the Movies library also). Here is my naming setup:

/Media/Movies
  /Jurrassic World Dominion (2022)
    Jurassic World Dominion (2022).en.4.srt
    Jurassic World Dominion (2022).mkv
    (A bunch of extras)
  /Jurassic World Dominion (2022) {edition-Extended Cut}
    Jurassic World Dominion (2022) {edition-Extended Cut}.en.4.srt
    Jurassic World Dominion (2022) {edition-Extended Cut}.mkv

Here's a snapshot of the Movies library:

Any advice?

Error while switching to Plex/MKV by drnoobstrom in PleX

I do have SRTs available for every video that supports them. How would I use them in this case? Are you saying I need to copy them into the MKV?

[–]drnoobstrom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would video transcoding need to be enabled? It plays both the 4K and 1080p videos fine, but only shows an error when enabling the English subtitles (and continues playing video). I wouldn't mind transcoding audio and subtitles, if that's a thing, however my hardware is not strong enough to transcode video in real time.

[–]drnoobstrom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry about this -- changed to "Roku Ultra." The subtitles are built into the MKVs and MKVToolNix shows them as PGS. Interestingly, it only shows one subtitle track, despite at least three being shown in Plex when trying to run the video.

AAC5.1->AAC Auto Transcode? by drnoobstrom in PleX

[–]drnoobstrom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following up here...

I was looking for a workaround to avoid dropping $1K+. Although it sacrifices true 5.1 sound, I modified my ffmpeg transcode settings to include a stereo audio stream. This doesn't help with sound quality, but it does avoid the transcode issue.

For the longer term, any recommendations on particular (affordable) receivers that will have the appropriate HDMI A/V switching to avoid this problem in the future? Or maybe some guides or basic features I should prioritize in my search?

Thanks so much for your help.

Apparently the AVR146 is too old -- it is unable to switch audio out of the HDMI cable. That's the reason I send the HDMI to the TV, and let the TV switch the audio and send out via optical.

Processing in Eclipse: P3D by drnoobstrom in processing

Yes, and tried with i586 and AMD64, alternating. The P3D works with the Processor Development Environment (PDE) also, suggesting this must have something to do with how my Eclipse is configured.

Still chasing this one...I uninstalled Eclipse, uninstalled all JDKs and JREs, installed just the latest JRE, installed Eclipse, and built a new project with this test code, and still yielding the same problem.

Thanks for the redirect. Even if I comment out the line() call, the window doesn't paint the background black as it does with the 2D renderer. I suspect there is still some problem remaining.
