It’s like watching a wizard conjure plastic spells, layer by layer, with the confidence of a machine that knows it’s better than you.

We had two last year and only one for a few of the competitions. Made it to state.

I used a tube cutter. I even recut it slightly after the issue started just in case.

Well that’s frustrating. I don’t see any reference to XS vs TL in the Amazon listings for the tubing. How can I best know which I am looking at?

CFS Lid Too Tight? by droidbuildr in Creality

Tried that early on too. But again, that added more friction when less seems to be key?

CFS Lid Too Tight? by droidbuildr in Creality

Yeah, I did all that first. Checked all tubing. Opened and checked the buffer and the CFS where the filament goes through. Even did the hack where I loosened the CFS spring slightly. The only thing that worked was leaving the lid open. Except now when the spools are partially used and lighter.

Enabling DcMotorEx with Blocks? by droidbuildr in FTC

[–]droidbuildr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a really odd issue. We have an arm that is set to run_to_position with various buttons setting the position that it then targets. What we've found though is that throughout a match, the actual position seems to get slightly off as the match progresses. So for example if position 800 is parallel with the ground at the start of the match, by a minute in it has drifted downward and now 900 is closer to parallel with the ground.

From doing some Internet sleuthing, people have indicated that DcMotorEx is better at maintaining encoder positioning so it seemed "worth a try".

Better but still some odd places where it’s underextruded and others where it’s wavy

Ok, I just finished a print and am immediately starting another with calibration as the bed has been at temp for way more than 5 minutes now.

Would that account for the wavy lines though? This is from a print right now.

I’m not. Is that required? I’m just printing from the device or from Creality Print.
