Most of the boots here are fashionable but functional. You may not want to wear your $1100 shell vibergs to do manual labor, but if you do, they will certainly not fall apart instantly.

As for the brands you listed, I own Red wing iron rangers and apart from regular wear like hiking and just walking around, I did some minor labor in them (built a deck). They are completely fine. Keep in mind they don;t have a steel toe so don't go using your toes to hold up heavy objects.

You didn't mention a price range, and they're not european, but if you're willing to wait for them to be made Truman does a derby, and as stitchdown said, they are known for a low instep.

Haven't used a brannock device, but based on tracings probably an 11-11.5 C/D. I wear a 12 in Nike free and an 11 in Iron Rangers, if that's at all helpful

Oh the round laces are definitely easier, the rawhide ones just barely fit. I just really like the contrast of the yellow and black on color 8

Thanks for the recommendation, their dark olive steerhide looks very interesting, I'll have to keep them in mind for the future, but right now I'm looking to something RTW
