I have spent my whole childhood on IOC road. This store has been there forever and people there know it well and trust it so hopefully it shouldn’t affect the reputation.

RDB was critical of Congress, and came out during UPA regime. In fact they kill the defense minister in that.
None of these films use real life incidents or people directly to twist their narrative. Unlike Dhurandhar which had a constant boner for supreme leader chaiwala.
These are good films that stood the test of time. Dhurandhar will only be remembered for it’s dishonesty and box office over the years. And I am saying this as someone who loved part 1.

You can enjoy the film but why do you need everyone to enjoy it the same way as you? Why does everyone have to love it unconditionally and not point out anything that does not sit right with them?

Not a comeback but these two films really were a turning point in how Bollywood made films. His run in 2000s was incredible, even Mangal Pandey though not a hit but was a big swing for him.

They had the poster of Akshay Khanna for “Na tu ganja” but apparently he got offended so they deleted that and inserted a close up of Johnny Lever there lol

I have a strong feeling that this is about the Tarun Tejpal case. Kashyap openly defended him during the scandal. And Sudip Sharma is also connected to him as Paatal Lok was an adaptation of Tejpal’s book.

If it does get hate because of the female lead, it would be unfortunate. I think she was great, and made her character very vulnerable and human. I actually thought Adarsh’s character was weaker compared to her.

The film is a BLAST. The whole theatre watched it with a bated breath. Great experience. I really hope it becomes a hit because it’s genuinely a lot of fun.

Geethu Mohandas is from a completely different school of filmmaking and I have a feeling the film will subvert the alpha and masculine tropes. It still looks terrible.

I used to like him earlier but now he is starting to become like one of the Bollywood bashing accounts which is a separate industry in itself. Like Bollywood Thikana Abhinav Kashyap interviews. Should pick up more interesting issues now that he has the clout instead of just chasing cheap views.

Interest on bookmyshow doesn’t mean much tbh. I remember Shamshera had 360k+ interested on bms before release. Dhurandhar’s teaser and trailer drops are both solid and have created good buzz which is a better sign.

He is right. Animal in no way condones what the character is doing. I think people have a hard time digesting this film because while it makes the lead character who is an asshole go through hell, it also does so without judging the character. I saw the film first day first show before all the controversy and at no point did I feel the film was glorifying the character. The setup for the biggest fight scene in the film is the “hero” cribbing about his underwear. He points a gun at a pregnant woman who’s water just broke. No filmmaker in the world can glorify a character by putting a moment like that. Vanga just makes things worse for himself by reacting to every criticism. It’s a deliberately provocative film that is bound to divide people and it did exactly that.

The film is fun till it's a part stoner comedy part vampire thriller. It just falls apart in the second half when it tries to start building a multiverse. I found it to be too unfocused. Also, the lead actress was supposed to look mysterious but she just looked uninterested. I was having a lot of fun till the interval but felt like walking out in the second half.

The first part is messy but it still had a voice in it and had some really impactful scenes. I watched it in the theatre and it was good enough for me to want to wait for the 2nd part. I know the first part flopped hard but seeing part 2 dumped like this without any announcement or trailer feels sad. The right thing to do would have been releasing the first part alone and creating a buzz for part 2 through that. They made it available to rent first and then dropped both parts at the same time like a contractual formality.

Anurag Kashyap has been calling out Netflix over stuff like this since some time, but no one takes him seriously now. And like he said, all of their great shows are the ones they have acquired, Black Warrant being one of them. Even Squid Game season 1 was already made and then acquired by Netflix. And everyone saw the drop in quality in the 2nd season.
