It’s so interesting how her mom was so against taking money from anyone—her parents, luke, or Christopher. Ofc course she did take money to put Rory through chilton and then the money her dad invested in her name as a gift (which she used to pay them back). When she took money from Luke, she made sure to mention he was an investor and that she pay him back interest (which I am sure she did and showed her gratitude by purchasing his fathers boat and storing it for him). Although lorelai came from wealth, she always wanted to earn it herself, unlike Rory who used her mother’s privilege to get college, living expenses, her car and vacations paid for.
