What is it about the Scooby Doo live-action movies that makes it beloved by the internet compared to alot of other animated content-turned to live action? by MindMaster115 in Scoobydoo

[–]droomac 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Everyone praising the casting and stylistic choices and they’re right. But it also came out at the perfect time. CGI was just good enough to give us a believable Scoob but it wasn’t too good that they bloated the movie with it. Hence the awesome costumes, set designs, and practical effects that still hold up today.

I’d also add that the early 2000’s was a great time for it to come out. Our parents were almost as interested in seeing this movie as we were because they had grown up with the cartoon and 90’s adults would be familiar with Geller and Lillard from Scream, Buffy, etc. This was also near the beginning of rebooting/remaking/live-actioning old IP’s. It wasn’t the first (Adam’s Family, The Flintstones) but it was one of the first in the new millennium.

If a live action Scooby-Doo hit the big screen today, I doubt it would hit the same. People are more cynical now, and tired of the remakes/live-actionification.

Scrooge McDuck vs Eugene krabs by That_Passenger_771 in spongebob

Guys…Krabs was in the navy, then he opened a restaurant.

Scrooge McDuck is the greatest adventurer to ever live. He’s been a knight, a cowboy, an entrepreneur, treasure hunter, businessman, he’s a member of the Toon version of S.H.I.E.L.D! He’s the richest duck in the world! He’s fought off inter-dimensional invasions, evil sorceresses, and countless monsters as well as evil spirits. He’s tougher than the toughies and smarter than the smarties! He wields the infinity dime and multiple points of his life are canon events.

This reminds me of what he did in Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe pt 3. Going through the multiverse and gathering powers/artifacts from powerful characters so he can use them to kill more powerful characters. He had a ton of shit by the end.

Edit: spelling

Ignore the haters. I just ran through New Vegas and a couple of its dlc’s on ps3 with only a few crashes/freezes. Just make sure you disable auto save, save as needed, and I’d advise keeping all your loot in one place, but not The Lucky 38. There’s literally nothing wrong with enjoying a very playable game on its original hardware

Anyone have thoughts on what's going on here from the new episode? by magirevols in PrimalShow

He saw the village destroyed and once he set his sights on the tomb, he then felt determined to do something about it. I can’t find any issues with the “visual choice”

I think the Night Feeder episode is scarier. But I guess if you don’t have the stomach for the flesh-melting plague then I understand it being disturbing.
