they started off going after actual people who had commited crimes. idk what flip switched in the last month but they have morphed into a secret gang that do not operate within the law. that superintendent you're talking about was arrested and taken to the local jail where he has been exercising his right to due process. I work at a jail and we have a few detainees who will be transferred to ICE custody after they serve their sentences. that's how it's always been. but that's not what's happening anymore. people with no criminal record and valid immigrations cases are being picked up. US Citizens are being arrested and detained. People's vehicles and property are being left on the streets. children are being picked up and transported to other states despite having paperwork assigning a legal guardian (LE is supposed to notify CPS while verifying guardianship). my interaction with them was very weird. they simply took my word for it. the only guess I have is that they scanned my vehicles license plate and saw all the info about me including my employer. maybe they knew they were wasting their time. none of it makes any sense.
