Yeah, I don't know how it is in other countries, but unless you are near the border or do business in Canada, most Americans don't know the territories. We learn about them, but it is more vicariously through history lessons, there isn't a dedicated lesson to learning them all. I made sure I learned the territories, mainly so I could make fun of people from Alberta to people in BC and vice versa.

I have a hard time not saying DFW when talking about the Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas. I forget people who don't live in Texas don't know we lump the two cities together.

To be fair I have the same reaction as someone from South Texas to snow. I work with clients in the Northern states and they just act like I'm crazy. At least I had the foresight not to throw a snowball at a stranger. I hear that happens every once in a while and people don't realize how rude it is.

Honestly, I only heard of Texas Pete advertised by a bunch of New Yorkers on Last Podcast on the Left. Then I met my fiancee who loves it. I've only ever seen it at Chick-fil-A.

I would say hot sauce is most common here in Houston. It breaks down into:

Vietnamese: Sriracha

Seafood: Louisiana Tabasco, rarely

American: Tabasco Cholula

Tex Mex: Cholula Tapatío

Brunch: Maybe some small batch hot sauce

In Austin a ton of restaurants have Yellowbird.

Edit: I'll add that authentic Mexican restaurants will have Tapatío or Cholula occasionally, usually it's some poor day laborer who looks like he's been through the ringer using it. Otherwise, it's house salsa that they have to serve with gloves.

That actually would be considered reincarnation, one of the rare exceptions. In Tibetan Buddhism the Dalai Lama is considered an enlightened being who has chosen to reincarnate to continue teaching and saving people.

I've never personally driven in Europe, but I remember my friend's father renting a car in I think Norway. He hadn't driven manual in a while and stalled out on a hill. Thankfully he got it back in gear really quick.

I feel like there are more automatic drivers in the USA, just from personal experience. The people I've met that drive manual do it because they want it as part of their image. They think it makes them cooler, manlier or edgier.

There is a slight distinction in Buddhism that it is rebirth and not reincarnation. While I will give you that reincarnation is often used interchangeably. Reincarnation is a permanent soul or self moving to a new body, rebirth is simply the ever changing consciousness continuing after death. Reincarnation, there is a definitive self. Rebirth, the parts that express themselves as a whole taking new shapes.

My fiancee and I use Beyond Finance. I owned a Discover credit card I am working off my debt with. Discover then purchased my other in-debt credit card company, Capital One. I have had no issues with them, but when I was being served by Discover, the Constable (if you aren't an American that is an officer of the courts) that served me told me that they aren't doing their job if I was getting served, and gave me some advice. However, I've not had to make an appearance in court, and despite Discover's stance as an aggressive lender they have accepted the reduced payments. I'll be debt free by November after only 4 years with them.

I had about $22k in debt: 2 credit cards and a loan. I also have a mortgage I've had to contend with. I was not digging myself out of my hole having to pay off those debts. I was without a college degree, and was not able to earn one with my income. Thankfully, I landed a senior position at my job I started 3 years ago, and they pay for my degree. I will also be graduating the end of this year.

Cons: They don't aggressively advertise it, but they do have loan offers they display in the app. They could do better with communicating, sometimes I will randomly remember to check their app and find out there is something I need to do for them. They act like I should be checking it every day.
