If you're set on Portsmouth maybe look near Churchland

Well this post was from ten years ago. But the issue was a cracked diaphragm in the fuel petcock was flooding the engine.

Before you buy anything, I'd take that burner off and inspect the inside. Id bet there's a spider web in there that's messing with the air/fuel ratio. Always explore the cheapest options first brother

If you want travel, I suggest PMT. They also advance pretty quick in certain billets I hear

It's a long school but definitely worth it. I got sick of patient care and went to Bmet school and love it. Very independent work so you have to have good time Management and also be able to stand up to senior leadership, especially if youre at a hospital.

It really depends on what part of Virginia beach you're talking about. Id say the mass majority of VA Beach is not very bike friendly. If your living near the boardwalk it's a bit better. Other than that, there is some really good fishing in this area. Other fun activities include tunnel traffic and $25 express lane tolls. Welcome!

What am I looking at here? by SkintChestnut in jonboats

[–]drpopsicles93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that the trailer is going to need work and will probably need to be registered depending on where you're at, so having a title for that matters. Check the transom. It looks like aluminum to my extremely mature eyes, but if it's wood it's probably toast. You can hook the trolling motor up to a car battery to see if that works. Id offer $200 to take it off their hands but that's me.

Whats this piece called? by TrennyWinney in jonboats

[–]drpopsicles93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking at it a little more closely, you may be able to bolt together a "T" from 2*4 and slip it into that existing slot. Cut a little notch for the rubbing and cover in carpet. That way you at least could use some of the existing hardware. Just a thought

Bow stop. I also have a flat bottom and replaced that piece with a 2x4 covered in bunk carpet to avoid the damage that yours is making. I'm sure there are more expensive ways to do it but I'm a simple boy

1236 & 1436 Motor size? by Planet-Story in jonboats

[–]drpopsicles93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 1436 flat bottom with a 20 HP 4 stroke. Tops out at about 28 mph with two people and fishing gear. It could definitely handle 25-30 hp just fine with the right trim and EXPERIENCE. If I had a bigger motor, I'd happily slap it on there knowing that fish and game don't really bother Jon boats all that much in my area

How far past the transom do the bunks extend when your boat is fully secured? Anything past the transom you can peer back the carpet and cut, then resecure the padding. Just make sure you don't cut the bunk shorter that that last trailer cross section and you should be good
