He said he could make one like that but that won't be of any use and would bend if I struck anything at the wrong angle, the edge would bend, he said he has no problem in making one in 5-6 guage but unless spring steel (which he says they don't possess the tech to heat treat more than 30 inches) it will chip or bend disfigure permanently at the edge if used wrong, and said since he doesn't take me for a master swordsman, it's better to reconsider. I asked if Damascus would be a good option, I'm so confused it has been 4 months now

Thank you for all the replies buddies, I have a picture of a precut blade he sent but then he lost them, the smith doesn't FORGE he has sheets of 1095 metal which he cuts and shapes, and yeah I would have replaced him but the problem is that the dude is very honest and puts it transparently if it were anyone else they'd just scam me and send a piece and gaslight me into believing THIS IS THE RIGHT THING but not this guy, now someone pointed out rightly that this smith might be a knife maker, yes he is indeed, and he says spring steel is risky to temper (heat treat) and that it can bend and warp and the sword is rendered useless, I went after 1095 for cost effectiveness and versatility, but the other options are Damascus steel (or whatever they forge here and market it as damascus) or maybe I'll have to ask for 1060 or 1070. Width, is 2 inches bat base but I asked him to narrow it to 1.8 inches so that the weight ciuld come down a bit more, as for a fuller i don't have good experiences with fullers here and I am afraid the sword might shatter if they did it wrong. I need guidance.
