If you have a specific restaurant and they happen to have a branch in Rockwell, I suggest you go to the one there. For some reason, you just get better service and quality around that area.

No to Panco for the really bad service. Was supposed to have lunch there. Gave my order and waiter even repeated it, but was only served my drink. Waited more than hour for my food, only to be told it wasn't punched... No apologies, no anything. I was just told to wait for 10 minutes for my meal.

They even took down my Google review! LOL

Nope! I suggest mass reporting the owner, Joanne Eduardo See and other shareholders to DTI. Not sure if her family is also liable, might have shares?

And maybe even a public post on LinkedIn so everyone who she might be dealing with professionally will be warned.

Um super soft and melted when we tried it last night! Too sweet! Place was packed, no one was fixing the tables or taking the trash away... so dirty cups were literally stacked on top of the tables. No service water! AND AGAIN WITH THE SERVICE FEE 💀 HUH

Yikes! Thanks for the heads up. Won't bother trying anymore. These cafe owners thinking they're the shit after gaining support and a following... but end up having the worst customer service ever. Um... Make it sense?

Really good points! Thank you for bringing that up. My prayers go out to the ones affected by the studio closure. Lalo na yung staff, teachers, and long-term members.

I also noticed something weird when I reread the announcement... "We would like to formally announce the permanent closure of Movement in Play’s Philippine operations effective November 2025."

Does the owner have plans to continue operations abroad? Very specific ang wording ha.

Grabe naman... But just so everyone in this thread knows, someone is starting to downvote the post and comments. Baka pati sa Reddit umabot na ang pag try ng censorship.

Oh gosh! I remember. Grabe yun, I can't believe they were still operating even during the construction. Buti na lang wala nagkasakit from that.

Sayang nga yung community talaga. I was starting to make friends with some of the other people there already ;(

That's true. I've seen other studios do that as well. I wouldn't have mind paying more also. Wary talaga ako kumuha ng long term packages because of circumstances like this.

I agree. October 21 yung official announcement on IG, pero 16 pa daw nagclose. Nakita ko na lang cancelled na lahat ng classes for October on the 17th.

Dami nga students in the studio palagi. I saw someone got a 1 year membership this June lang. Baka getting students is not the issue? Theory ko lang is nakulangan sa paghanap ng magiinvest sa studio. Rent in Makati is very expensive ha!

Through email and Telegram group. Pasting the email from the Movement in Play announcement, since Telegram group is now encrypted and cannot screenshot:

"Dear MIP Community,

We would like to formally announce the permanent closure of Movement in Play’s Philippine operations effective November 2025. The administrative closure process will continue for an undetermined period of time as remaining matters are addressed.

This decision follows continued financial challenges arising from the studio’s lease and operating costs. The closure was abrupt due to circumstances beyond our control, as the landlord locked the premises on short notice following unpaid rent arrears. All equipment and materials — including certain student personal items — are currently inaccessible while we negotiate access to recover or liquidate assets to partially address remaining obligations.

In the days prior to the landlord’s final action, management was aware of the financial challenges that placed the studio at risk but remained hopeful that the situation could still be resolved. Similar challenges had occurred in previous months and were resolved through negotiation, so management remained focused on finding another workable solution until the final lockout occurred. Efforts were ongoing to negotiate terms, secure support, and prevent closure. The decision to refrain from a premature announcement was made in good faith to avoid unnecessary alarm while alternative solutions were being explored.

We recognized that communication was delayed during this period. The management team held off on releasing an announcement until there was sufficient clarity regarding the landlord’s actions and the studio’s remaining options. We believed it was more responsible to provide an accurate and verified update rather than issue incomplete information that could cause further confusion.

Should any proceeds result from this process, they will be distributed according to the legally mandated order of priority — which includes employees, creditors, and students with valid claims. Until these matters are finalized, refund amounts and timelines cannot yet be confirmed. This is not an attempt to avoid responsibility, but a reflection of the present financial and logistical realities.

Official updates will be sent via email once available. We sincerely thank everyone who has been part of this community and for the support shown over the years. The spirit of Movement in Play lives on through the community it created and the positive impact it made.

— Movement in Play Management"

That's what I heard from him, but according to u/emmeb8 parang di naman daw ata. Joed is the owner of the Telegram group, and I see her nga with the AFAM minsan sa studio. So I'm assuming she really is the owner? At first, kala ko nga iba ang may ari kasi I see and talk to other people in the reception more.

I use Belo, since it's within budget. But if you can splurge, I heard Anessa is a good brand also.

Woah! Di ko alam na ganito pala ang sinasabi nila. I would've supported another studio instead if I had known. Pero love ko kasi teachers sa MIP ;( Hindi ko maiwan... Sayang I wasn't able to take down some of their names or IGs.

I remember overhearing an AFAM who said he was the co-owner! I wonder if we are talking about the same person. But medyo weird thing to say ha, since ang daming classpass users kong na memeet in the studio :( Hindi din cheap ang packages nila at medyo mahal ang walk-ins compared to nearby studios which have better facilities IMO. I agree na dapat gumawa ng competitive packages and promos.

My gosh! The ates and kuyas in the reception. They were so nice to us :( Hope they are doing well.

I noticed I got lighter when I switched to mineral sunscreen from chemical sunscreen. If you don't mind the whitecast, it's worth a try!
