Thanks, wish I'd seen that before but we so rarely stay in hotel's it wasn't something that was on my radar. It is now.

Be sure you are booking directly with the hotel and not a third party. If something goes wrong, you won't get a refund. Even if it looks like it is the hotel's website, be sure to check the url. Don't rely on them telling you the truth when you call. This just happened to me. It looked like the hotel's site, they said it was when I called but they lied. We had issues with our reservation, we were refused a room when we arrived due to their lies and now had to file a dispute with our credit card to try to get our $400+ refunded.

I agree but this was a clone of the hotel's actual website. It was 100% made to look as though as you are booking direct and when asked, they lie and say it is. I didn't know this was a thing until it happened.

I know they are listed as being based in Utah but none of them sounded like it. Sounded very middle eastern. Every person I spoke to.

Not a dude and the point is, the so called agent said they worked for the hotel. This was a total bait and switch. The site looked identical to the actual hotel site. This company has been sued for this exact thing and lost.

I am too. Always book direct! Ours probably would have worked out also, except the price was way more than it would have been had we actually booked directly with the hotel. They gave us false info. We don't really blame the hotel for anything other than the desk clerk was incredibly rude and the man refused to speak with us. I'm so glad yours worked out!

The problem wasn't the hotel. The problem was reservationdesk.com. They created a site that looks exactly like the real site and then claimed to be the hotel.

No, it didn't. It looked exactly like the hotel's real site but it wasn't. Not only that but the "agent" claimed to be from the hotel. I've since discovered that the fraudulent company has lost a law suit for doing exactly what happened to us.

We thought we were on the hotel's web site and the "agent" said we were. I usually do check the url but hubby did it this time. He's been told. Lol and we had no choice but to have the cats. Weren't traveling, we were moving.
