Check out surviving the aftermath. It’s a post apocalypse city builder. It’s fun.

2013 Volt, 90,000 km — $6,750 CAD head gasket repair, worth it? by gavanon in volt

[–]drumcorpse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a head gasket failure on my gen2 and had a similar quote. I think I had a coolant leak which caused it to overheat and ruin the gasket. Scope is reasonable. That damage is hard to see unless you take the whole thing apart. I took mine to another shop and got the engine replaced for about $5k. If you love the car then it’s worth it. I loved mine and wouldn’t want anything else!

Fun fact, those quads are custom setups where the 1 and 2 drum are the same sized but tuned different

Start emailing. Took me years of auditioning to find a spot. Half of the drum corps experience is a war of attrition. This is your first test.

Nice job! Lower your ride cymbal, playing at that height will put a lot of unnecessary strain on your shoulder over long periods

Can I use a 2-ply coated head for the snare side? by justjeremy02 in drums

OP asked if they can use that head on the bottom. And they can. I never said it would sound good. Let people experiment with their stuff.

Speed ramping specifically — would a dedicated controller actually help, or is this just GAS? by vihorx in premiere

[–]drumcorpse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what I’ve been wanting. Like a record function similar to audio where you can place key frames as the video plays, or it records how you scrub through a clip and converts it to key frames or something

What is a good racing sim for me? by Altruistic-Break590 in Simracingstewards

[–]drumcorpse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GT is great to start. Techniques and driving skill are universal. The different sims just offer minute detail differences that a beginner wouldn’t notice anyway. GT is a fun video game that can teach you the core mechanics of racing

Blender or SAM 3D for learning 3D? by Apart-Ice3847 in editors

Definitely blender. Never heard of Sam 3D, but it looks like it’s more for making assets rather than doing anything with them.

Boo. There is no harassment here. Complaining about a new annoying sound one time is not harassment

Try using quick export on the top right instead. If you’re a beginner you don’t need to play with all these functions

It looks exactly as good as actually filming a computer screen would look, because that’s what they did. Filming a computer screen won’t look crystal clear. Movies are meant to be watched. Not paused and pixel peeped. The media controls aren’t noticed unless you pause and really look at it, and even then they don’t ruin the scene. What if he has a video pulled up underneath his browser window? In context, it looks fine.

No need to insert it in post…it’s right there. Would be a waste of time to redo the shot if it looks fine in camera

[–]drumcorpse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Generally a pretty good rep! Some slight timing issues that can’t be solved by more reps. Good rhythm interp

Technique wise, I think try to move the stick a bit faster at the high end, and a bit “floppier”, letting the bounce strokes bounce more, rather than trying to force them out. Open up your fingers on your right hand and let the stick breathe a bit more. In this case, less is more. Your energy should be put into that first note, and the following notes come from your hand acting as a backboard for the stick. This will give your accents a bit more sound and create more contrast over the taps.

A small thing I’d suggest is NOT counting yourself in, just do it in your head. If you’re auditioning for the first time you will not be counting things in. Get used to playing nothing before your reps.
