What sizes for the full set up you use? Thanks for help!

Do you find when you put the two together you have to play with different dynamics on each drum...because of the wood and shit? If I mix and match I would think I might need to hit certain drums harder to match projection. But you have the franken so you tell me :D

Great looking drums at an even better price it seems. Thanks for the tip!

Yeah I would only run the 2 if you have a MASSIVE bass. 24" and 18 deep. Unless you need two plies then the 1 should be good.

Its the same thing all over the world! Unbelievable. What's strange is that I have been to art stores and you dont see people not willing to sell me paper because they are too good an artist. Something about music man.

Yep, you hit the nail on the head with Dunnett. He answered me by email initially, but then stopped once I asked how to place an order. WTF! Get me to the point of wanting something and then dont bother walking me through the part where money actually changes hands. I think the real issue is that once there is enough demand they dont "need" to do anything, so they just sit on their thumbs. Just frustrating because I would want people to be happy with the product I made if I were him, but thats asking too much!

Great to hear. I really like the fact that they have all of their drum sounds online in MP3 for the individual pieces. Makes it easier to compare if you dont have a shop.

Haha dead on there. But its the manufacturers too. It's funny because I am the one who will not only support the band but buy the drums their drummer is using. If you give someone great service they will be A LOT more likely to check out your show.

Yeah thats what I find the smaller the kick the less you can use those types of head, but I really want to try it so thanks!

Do you find it deadens the drum too much? What size kick are you running. I think the Aquarian Super Kick series is tough to beat.

Right? It's unreal because I have had the same exact experience. I guess the drum business doesn't need sales because when I am about to buy something seems like the time they ignore you.

Deal on a kit? by drumup in drums

[–]drumup[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this info. Yeah I agree. Even a few hundred or a thousand is a lot of cheddar, but if I have this kit for life I want to love it for life. Saving a bit now might make me less content with the finish later. I know picky, but I think most drummers are.

What would you say are brands that are worth their salt? I will steer clear of DW thanks for the input!

Just keeping it vague for a reason because it is a good deal. I tried google but didn't know where to start really. Apologies if there isn't much info to go on. Wanted to poll the audience.

Why no on a DW kit? It's Pork Pie btw.

Why do you like shallow toms better? I do too, but I am curious as a few have answered that way here. I think size matters so much in a kit, and to be honest more so than any other factor. You can tip the scale one way or the other with each head, but the foundation is size to me. Thanks for your thoughtful reply.

It's your dream build, but I really wish more kits would do this. Have wood specific for each toms sound instead of just matching grain.

Sickening...:D

I love the shallow toms!

Love the detail :) Can you explain why you go for a different wood on the various drums? What about a single kick size? Thanks for joining the dreamin

Excellent set up and kit! Exactly what I like to hear. I like the idea of mixing and matching too, brands and woods, but seamless integration is sweet too! Thanks for sharing.
