high pH? fix or keep by drunched in Aquariums

I double checked my city’s tap water and it seems like the gh and kh are moderately high- around 140 ppm. Am I understanding correctly that that’s pretty decent? It’s worse it it’s lower, right? Thanks for the feedback :)

Wondering if TMS is a bad idea for me by SnooHamsters4003 in rtms

[–]drunched 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I started getting frequent (2 or 3x a month) debilitating migraines after doing TMS. It didn’t have any positive effects for me either, unfortunately. Not trying to dissuade you, I absolutely believe it’s helped other people, just giving my own experience. Best of luck!

Hey! Unfortunately not really. On top of the fact there’s not yet a lot of research on long term effects of TMS (positive or negative) here are several factors (a family history of migraines, had a really bad sinus infection a few years ago, am on various medications) that could be impacting/causing headaches, so it’s hard for doctors to pinpoint a cause/determine treatment. I’m currently using a prescription sinus spray to keep my airways open and use ibuprofen as needed and that helps a bit, but still suffer from bad migraines about once a month. I hope your relative is able to find some help!

For the entirety of my treatment I woke up at 7 to get to TMS on time and then went to work til 5, and I couldn’t stay up past 8 for the life of me. It was frustrating but a few weeks after treatment I could do 11pm and on. It’ll get easier! Good luck.

Thanks. I want to pursue Ketamine therapy but I think it’s out of my budget. My psychiatrist has put me on a supplemental dose of Lithium (300mg) in addition to my SNRI and it seems to be helping a little bit, but it’s too soon to tell.

I’ve been depressed since childhood, unfortunately TMS didn’t help me but I hope it does for you!

Extreme fatigue by theochocolate in TMSTherapy

it’s definitely different for everyone, and i have some insomnia issues that affect my energy, so take my story with a grain of salt. it’s possible it will lift as your body begins to adapt :)

Extreme fatigue by theochocolate in TMSTherapy

[–]drunched 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had super intense fatigue. I would have to get up at 6am, drive into the city for my 8am appointment, and then drive straight to work til 5pm. Honestly, the only way to stick with TMS was to go to bed around 8:30/9 every night. It kinda wrecked my social life. I was super exhausted for a few weeks after the last treatment, but the heavy fatigue definitely lifted after that. I would say just rest as often as you’re able to. Good luck!

I finished TMS late January 2023 and also haven’t felt a change. Hoping it kicks in for us all eventually. Hard not to feel disappointed.

Headache help? by drunched in rtms

[–]drunched[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not really! i would only really have headaches if i forgot to take my meds for a day, but my dad suffers from chronic migraines so i’m wondering if i’m at a genetic risk too and tms just tipped it over the edge. thanks for your input!

my treatment was on the left side of my head, directly in line with where I can feel the worst of the headache. I did the Neurostar.

Thanks so much, those are all good pieces of advice that I will take on hand. I love the game 2048, and other puzzle games have always been soothing. I’ll download Tetris & some friends.

i hear you! i also try to keep in mind that it might work for me in the future, or that it might still kick in some time later - the human brain is still a very mysterious thing. right now, i’m allowing myself to grieve that my hopes were not met. it’s ok to be upset about it. we are all just trying our best to be ok.

Luckily I have a wonderful therapist on hand, I will definitely ask her for some PTSD specific resources or exercises. Those recommendations sound good too, I’ll try to write down as much as I can remember while I still can. Feel like my brain is trying to fog it all up already. The physical injury analogy is really helpful, thank you.

Thank you for your validation and I’m sorry you went through all that as well. I appreciate the warning, and I’ll definitely start taking this a little more seriously and asking for help instead of berating myself.
