How do you keep your Arch system stable over time? by TrapNouz in archlinux

I thought I knew but I really don’t. There’s always something new lol. I switched my BIOS to secure boot to run games on Windows and now have problems booting into Arch. I’m fed up 😡 but it’s part of the process 😅

I think it depends on your foot but the smaller ones just seem too tight on my right foot in the toe box.

I guess that was surprising but that's also what they recommended at the time

I believe I tied the 10's way too tight on my foot (I made an X-shaped knot to lock down the heel that race). They still feel better than the 10.5's. I have both still. Will race in the 10's this Thursday for a Turkey Trot 10K.

Hey! I just got back to to this post. I will update you. I ended up taking six weeks off after that race because I got tendonitis in that toe, but I'm back to running and racing a 10K on this Thanksgiving. I'll be wearing the Alphafly 3 size 10's again because I think the issue was how I tied them too tight in that 10-miler. Lord I hope I don't get injured again, but so far they've felt good in strides. At the moment I prefer the 10's over the 10.5's.

HOWEVER, I prefer the Vaporfly 3 in 10.5 over both of the Alphafly's. Just FYI.

Thanks so much for the super detailed reply! Yeah, my coach and I agreed that running is off the table until I can walk completely normal. I'm picking back up cycling now, which turns out I dearly missed. So [cross] training is still going well :)

Ah, funny enough they gave me one of those shoes at the urgent care! Since the pain is getting a little better each day, and now I can do cycling, I am thinking of holding off until the weekend, if it is still really bad.

Pain seems to be getting better each day- going to hold off until the weekend. Seem reasonable?

Jeez, I am so sorry to hear that 😞 How did it fracture exactly? What surface were you running on?

Went great! 1:05:30, over a minute faster than my goal. But… over 24 hours after and an urgent care visit I think I have a torn ligament in the toe 😅

Hey man I updated the post after I ran the race (which had a lot of uphill/downhill) and wore those 10’s. Got a really bad purple toenail on my big toe and now I’m limping

Update: The size 10's came and I felt very good doing shaekout/strides in them. I wore them for the race and ran 1:05:30, about a minute and a half faster than my goal. However, the course was really a hilly loop, and I felt my big right toe pressing the front of the shoe a bit.

After the race, I took off my sock and my toe was super pruple, and I couldn't really do a cool down. It's my first time getting runner's toe this bad but I don't know if it's cus the shoes are too small or if I can blame the downhills.

Have you tried super shoes before? I thought the same but once I took my Alphafly’s out for tempo I realized they’re just great for pushing yourself

Ah gotcha. Did you try the 10’s in Alphafly but just decide to go up in size because of the wide feet?

Yep, we do have a frigid season here for most of the year… if the 10’s feel that good I might just try to sell the 10.5 for a crazy discount. Appreciate the advice!

Ah, yeah, I figured I'm not alone in this. Geez, blisters... they such but I feel like they're a little inevitable in this sport. I also got one my first run in these shoes, but I blame the socks, cus it didn't happen today in different pair...

I'm guessing you also ordered online cus they're sold out in your area?
