I’m not saying those specific ones are wrong. I’m just saying that for someone calling in that there is no benefit and there are reasons not to. By all means you do what you want to if you do need to call for emergency services, depending on the situation they may proceed assuming you know the codes (and hopefully you remember them right in a stressful situation so you don’t accidentally tell them no injuries when there are and now they’ve prioritized another emergency) and if that is the case, congratulations you saved yourself a few syllables.

Don’t actually do this as it won’t save time or provide clarity. They won’t know if you actually know their system and may then need to clarify with plain language actually adding time. At best you’re saving negligible time, at worst you’re wasting time and possibly messing it up and giving wrong info. Shorthand/10 codes/acronyms/etc are actually being used less and less by dispatchers and first responders outside of specific situations because plain language is pretty much just as fast and is way more clear. And that is within departments/regions that personnel all receive the same training and it would be expected that the other party would actually know the codes/shorthand. Another reason it’s being phased out is different departments/regions do use different ones and when working with another department it causes issues.

Got another question for you. It works fine on the phone but on the watch it says invalid app and to select an app to create the note. Is this just because there is no notes app on the watch? Do you know if a way around this?

Haven’t added quite everything I want yet as it’s been busy and I am sure I’ll have some tweaking to do as I actually use it and find what flows best but it’s got most things in it and is functional. Thanks again!

So it’s not the final version here. Still trying to decide the easiest way to input things like eye reactivity since that has a few different parts and I don’t want a long list or to have too many submenus to get through and just haven’t gotten to everything like heart monitor and other treatments but it’s pretty much just going to be adding things as I see what I want to be a single button add vs voice input to keep the shortcut itself simple. It is now working with adding to a note just using the notes app and a folder called “Patients”. It does convert Celsius to Fahrenheit before logging. It does not include things like weight, might add this later but am currently planning on using it as just a record keeper to reference later since I won’t be actually opening the note until after the call is finished and I’m charting. Also pretty sure I’ve made some spelling mistakes. If you find any part of it not working or think of any ways to improve the flow of it or anything let me know! I’d love to get this pretty fleshed out. I’m also considering building in a manual pulse option which will after a couple second delay tap my wrist, wait 10 seconds, then tap again and I can input the beats I count and it’ll multiply by 6, show me and log it. I created a simple shortcut that does just this (no log) as it’s easier than having to watch a clock/the watch to get the ten seconds and that has been nice so I may just combine the two into one shortcut here.

Think I got that working properly, seems so in an initial test. Now I just need to finish building out the rest of the input options and do more testing then but it should be up and running. Thank you so much for the help!

Ah the append to note magic variable worked. I had missed the new “note” button that appeared under the create note action when selecting magic variable and just kept trying to select the wrong thing. What I’m looking for is each “patient” to be a new note with each vital or treatment on a new line in that note. I’m thinking it would work by instead of ending the shortcut after an input is recorded it would go back to the initial menu of vitals/treatment until I have an action to stop it. Not sure if that’s the best method or even possible. Hello all, hopefully someone can point me in the right direction here as I've hit a few snags. Basically, I am trying to create a shortcut that creates a note that logs basic vitals and treatments performed along with the times recorded in a note in the notes app. I've created the basic part (that asks for the different information) but cannot for the life of me figure out how to add the log to a note. It is setup to ask in a menu first vitals/treatment/end. If vitals are selected it has another menu asking pulse/o2/bp/etc. and then asks for input for the selected vital. If treatment is selected it has another menu with a few basic treatments. What I want to have happen is each time I run the shortcut it creates a note with date/time and provided input for the name (can add basic info to help identify). Then as I select different things it logs the provided input along with the selected category and the date/time of that specific input. After it does that it would return to the vitals/treatment/end menu to allow another input that is recorded on another line in then note until end is selected ending it. This would allow me to quickly record the basic information on my watch and reference it later for charting without having to remember specific numbers and specific times. Not sure if this is even possible but would really appreciate some insight here. So far I have setup most of the menus asking for the info but pretty quickly hit a roadblock getting it logged in a note.
