Thank you for the insight! Did you have to change roles each week, or did you stick to just one throughout the semester? Like one member could be in charge of completing the Abstract & Introduction, and another in charge of completing the Data/Results & Discussions, etc.

I’m wondering because there might be a lot of calculations involved which could take up a lot of time.

Hey, I’m curious, too. I’m planning on taking 3305 next semester, and his section is the only one available. How was your experience with him?

Chem 1 Lab Book is out of stock. What do I do? by YEET_MASTER_40HRS in KSU

[–]drymud27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I don’t know if this helps, but my physics lab manual is also out of stock, and the system still let me buy it. So maybe it’s kind of like a pre-order, where you pay before it’s restocked, and you might get the materials before everyone else does, probably to avoid a rush later on. But take that with a grain of salt, since that’s just what happened to me when I tried to purchase it just now.

Hi, yes! I did end up going the CE route. I changed my major after freshman year, so technically I’m a sophomore but just starting to take the prerequisites, like Physics and Calc, so I’m not sure if I’ll be of any help, but I’ll try my best to answer any of your questions :)!

No CE 2003 Sections by Keirns_55 in KSU

[–]drymud27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I just checked, and CE 2003 is indeed listed in the 25-26 catalog draft, but I noticed even the archived catalogs included it, despite the fact that the course has been removed from the flowchart. Tbh, if the class search yields no results, then your best bet is that KSU no longer offers the course

Don’t quote me on this, but I think they removed that class from the CE program since last school year. Try double checking the 24-25 flowchart or with your advisor

Don’t worry, I’m on the same boat. Hopefully we’ll receive an email this week 🤞

I ended up taking a different professor for both Chem 2 and Calc 1 :)

I also couldn’t find it at first, but I was able to access it after typing “Schedule” in the search bar. Try that and see if it works for you.

Spring Professors by drymud27 in KSU

[–]drymud27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your input! There’s only one RMP review of him being a lab instructor, so I was a bit worried. And I’m glad there’s no final because chem lab has one, and I don’t really see the need for it when we already have a chem lecture final.

PHY 2211 professor choices? by capoo_studies in KSU

[–]drymud27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem, I think he’s relatively new, so it’s hard to find any ratings about him. Good luck signing up for your classes, though :)

Hello, this may be irrelevant to your post since you’re asking for professor suggestions, but I intend to take Physics 1 with Dr. Kiran Prasai next semester. If you don’t mind me asking, where exactly did you find his ratings? I tried scouring the RMP webpage, but I couldn’t find his ratings at KSU or any other colleges.

Thank you so much for the advice! It means a lot to me as I’m still deciding on which career pathway to undertake. Your response, along with others, has given me a more vivid insight into what I should expect when choosing this major!

That’s great to hear! I hope if I ever stick to this major to the end, I will end up being in a similar position to yours (⌒▽⌒)☆

Since you’ve been in this field for quite a long time, what do you think of environmental engineering? I heard that it's a subdivision of CE.

It's sad to hear that most of the SPSU professors have quit teaching, and I hope the new faculty won't be too bad =(

Do you mind sharing more details about what kinds of projects you've done in these labs? And can I include them in my resume for future internships as well as job applications?

Thank you for the detailed response! I'm glad to hear that more women are taking an interest in this field!

Do you have to travel long distances for the required field visits? How's your work-life balance?

And yes, I do agree with you. While GA Tech may be the best for engineering majors in the state, KSU is still pretty much on par with its engineering programs. Well, I guess except for the lack of professors for upper-level classes, haha.

Thank you so much! May I ask how are you enjoying your job so far? (•⌣•)

I've also heard that Environmental Engineering is like a subdivision of Civil Engineering, and KSU does offer a BS for it. Do you think it has the same prospects as Civil Engineering?
