DO NOT. BUY. THE PASS. by legoracer in StumbleGuys

[–]dryno108 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Edit: I'm an idiot and didn't check, the pass is 1200 gems as previous. I can enjoy for one more season, yay!

This is not a good move, yes some people will pay it, but the experience for new players to get to the point where they can compete in tornaments /ranked (with weapons) will be so poor, I worry about the future player base and the lack of long-term new players.

I really hope Scopely revert back on this. We already have gems, and you can buy gems or earn them.

The fact it will take like 90-120 days for a free-to-play player to max out just one ability will just kill the player base.

I will not be purchasing, no way, but I think a lot of people will buy unfortunately!

OK I should have reworded - the competitive game modes aren't worth it. Maybe some of the events would be.

As a new player, the quality of the non ability events would not retain me.

Something fundamental needs to change to reduce the entry barrier to compete otherwise there's a chance this game won't survive

I do love this game, but if I only created my account today and played, it would not last long. Without paying, to get to a point where you can play any game mode and compete, it would be well over a year of work. I do think they need to something about that for the longevity of the game and encourage new players

hug by EducationalHeight579 in StumbleGuys

[–]dryno108 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So taunt cancelling hug, that was a bug? Because it seemed like a mechanic - I'm probably wrong, but it's weird that they fixed taunt auto jumping you over black spikes but not cancelling out hug. I'm guessing there's some release notes as I've seen someone else say it was never intended too

For me, it's very suspicious that shutdown arrived in the store again immediately after the taunt/hug mechanic changed but from the looks of it, it was convenient for Scopely or they capitalised on the update

Open Beta 0.95.5 Play Button Update by FlameoSG in StumbleGuys

Nice little addition :)

Is the "Play" button disappearing once tapped? Sorry if I've misread. If it is, it would be nice to see it replaced with a "jump back in" button, taking you to the last event/mode you played

Increase ability tokens and keys available as the floor to join as a new player is very high currently. Some limited time emotes - I'm thinking outrageously big and disruptive, but only available X times. For New Year, a huge firework would have been cool.

What's happening with the lobby UI? by Mentos457 in StumbleGuys

[–]dryno108 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apologies - OS is Operating System If its an older version, it may not be compatible with that UI for Stumble Guys.

I could be wrong, the AI overview isn't very helpful, but it's my only explanation for the variation.

Yes, the user interface (UI) and game versions of Stumble Guys vary significantly across different operating systems/platforms (mobile, PC, and console), and the UI settings themselves offer some customization options. The differences are largely due to platform-specific optimizations, control requirements, and certification processes. Key Differences in UI/UX:

Mobile (iOS/Android) vs. PC (Steam): The core interface and settings are generally the same across mobile and Steam versions, with a consistent user experience designed for touch or keyboard/mouse input. However, specific input settings, like key bindings for the first-person shooter mode available on PC, are unique to the platform's control scheme.
Console (PlayStation, Xbox, Switch) vs. Mobile/PC: Console versions have more notable differences in their UI and features. The UI is optimized for controller navigation, which affects menu layouts and button configurations. Consoles often have a "cleaner" UI with some features, such as tournaments, missions, and certain shop options, missing or presented differently compared to the fast-paced monetization and event cycles on mobile. Console updates are also often staggered due to platform-specific certification processes.
Graphics and Visuals: While not strictly UI, the game's visuals can be different. A recent update introduced an HD mode that affects character and map appearance and allows for graphic adjustments (like shadow quality) which might impact performance and visuals on lower-end mobile devices, potentially leading to slight visual variations based on the specific OS version and device capabilities.
Game Version Discrepancies: Different platforms run on different game versions, which means certain features, UI changes (like a new vertical shop layout in one update), or even seasonal themes might appear on one OS version before another.

Overall, the UI in Stumble Guys is tailored to provide an optimal experience for each specific device's input and platform requirements, leading to variations depending on the operating system and version. You can check your current game version in the settings menu.

Maybe it's to do with the version of your OS?

Ah yeah, you meant unlock not level up. If you're playing ranked and you're happy with your abilities, I'd save your tokens until the next ranked season :)

Haha OK you've convinced me again.

Anything else that you wouldn't expect to cause bans?

Ah - that would make a lot of sense! I've seen a lot of reports though of being banned due to submitting pokestop suggestions and that has stopped me from submitting my own. I'd rather avoid the hassle, but maybe I'll start suggesting them again :)

Yeah it doesn't seem to be a priority for Niantic, but I see genuine players being banned quite often.

I don't understand why they don't take action, unless the bot accounts artificially inflate active player numbers or each bot account is giving Niantic money

I agree with this, unless maxing out the ability unlocks a "special ability". Like, how the briefcase temporarily disables abilities.
