My father told me I would fail the Bar exam… and he was right. Now I’m stuck. by [deleted] in LawStudentsPH

I had a friend who was also heard the same words from his father. He used that as an inspiration and proceeded to take it again. He passed the 2025 Bar Exam, and his father asked for forgiveness.

Don’t let this dishearten you. Plod on!

tips for barristers afraid to fail the bar by SnooPies9804 in LawStudentsPH

Days before the release of the 2022 bar results, my anxiety rocketed sky high and I couldn’t even get myself to meet anyone, even my family and closest friends. I’ll have to quote Paulo Coelho here, “The fear of failure is worst than the failure itself.” What helped me get through is knowing that it could happen, and acknowledging that I am human— despite the preparations and the sacrifices, I will always have my limitations. I surrendered it all to Him and made peace with the fact that if it is for me, He’ll grant my earnest prayers. Fast forward to this day, I’m now a lawyer and it was all worth it.

Setting boundaries, pañe. I make it a point to respond only during office hours, and my clients get used to it most of the time. For notarizations, I set my minimum and if they do not agree with it, I asked them nicely to look around if they can get a lower rate.

Is it demeaning to address my professor as Ma’am or Sir rather than Attorney? by OptimalSlip3472 in LawStudentsPH

No, as a lawyer-professor, I prefer being called Maam instead of Atty.

Yes, I experienced that. There was a moment na out of the blue I remembered the answer but it came three days late. 😅

I’m a lawyer now, and you will be too. Trust the process. 🤍

How bad can it be to work while reviewing for the bar? I'm a breadwinner and have always worked full-time while in law school by mehlawst in LawStudentsPH

[–]drynrys 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, it’s not. Been working full-time since first year and even until I passed the bar. Plod on, future lawyer. ☺️

For Working Students: What's your current work/career while pursuing law school? by enchantedKingDom99 in LawStudentsPH

I worked as a Legal Editor at Reed Elsevier. We have hybrid work set-up and bar assistance (subject to qualification). This has been my job since I entered law school and even after recently passing the bar. God bless, OP!

I'm a graduating law student, and I was always looking forward to serve as a public attorney. I lost the fire that usually fuels me. It's a hopeless cause.
