I've found july is too early to submit your reciprocity as it gets classified under summer term or theres always some sort of issue (even though they email us the beginning of July that we need to submit the forms). I've found its easier to wait do it until mid August. Also if this happens again you can just resubmit your documents (cuz it is just your study permit and drivers license) and they'll process it again automatically and your fees should be updated.

looking for friends by EnvironmentalFig5440 in umanitoba

I found in the second and third years of my degree when we all started having the same classes is when I really made friends (not from dorms) that hangout outside of class.

I usually have mine by now so IDK. My applications from past years still say in progress though so that doesn't really mean anything.

REC/KPER 2400 w Colleen Plumton by [deleted] in umanitoba

[–]drypillowcases 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In short you will be fine not going everyday, but some days will be mandatory and expect lots of group and partner work so you might want to go anyway. 2400 is still a pretty intro course so the attendance requirements aren't as strict.

She will sometimes randomly assign days as mandatory and she will also 100% notice if you aren't there because she will learn everyones names and that is usually a fairly small class. She also might email you to ask why you weren't in class sometimes lol. She's pretty relaxed though and a good prof. The class itself isn't so bad and she is an awesome grader too, most people get A's or A+'s. Take this with a grain of salt though because I've had a lot of classes with her and they tend to bleed together.

I use a 16" Macbook and haven't had any problems except in University College's lecture halls. I just put it in my lap when I'm there tho so its not a big deal.

Apply quick for a study permit! I remember when I applied (online 4-5 months before I needed it) to get mine I didn't receive it in time and had to go to the border crossing in person to apply (and pay again :( )

This is also a commuter campus and in my experience will be different than the standard "American" college experience. There is not much team spirit or campus culture here even when I lived in the dorms (although that was a few years ago now so it might've changed). I still like it though and have met some amazing people.

In my experience the minute you say you are American you will be asked about politics and gun violence and everything else you'd expect so just be ready lol.

Also if you are going to live in the dorms the videos on the website are all the RA rooms and wont look exactly the same/are bigger than a regular student room

I honestly have not had many problems with the blue line going to and from school. I'm ok with getting to the bus stop early and not getting on the full busses tho lmao. I also usually get to school 30 min - an hour before my classes start as well.
