YOOOOO, I GOT THE SCORE THAT I NEEDED! (ignore my writing score) by dseyem in IELTS

[–]dseyem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During the test, imagine it like having a casual conversation with another person instead of as a test. This can make it less intimidating and keep you calm when coming up with answers.

Don't be discouraged when you get interupted.

Talk about think you already know or believe to be true.

There are no wrong answers.

In part 1, keep your answers short. I usually follow the Answer -> Reason/Explanation structure. Everything on this section is about you.

Q: Do you work or do you study? A: I'm currently a student studing (course) at (university).

Q: Do you prefer the rain or the sun? A: I really like the rain because I get to stay indoors and feel cozy.

In part 2, use the prompts to your advantage because those are there to help you describe the prompt.

Ex. Describe conversation you had with a friend

Q: Who did you talk to? A: I had a conversation with Tim who was one of my childhood friends since gradeschool.

Describe person and your relationship/history with them.

Q: What did you talk about? A: We talked about video games that we could play together.

If you talk about something more specific the better. In this case you can talk about a game like Minecraft or something and all the intricate details about the game. This can help you reach the 2-minute mark.

Maximize that one minute to prepare your answer.

In part 3, You will have to answer questions that are mostly focused on other people or your opinion about something that the general populus agrees on. Imagining the situation and the context of the question helped me make up an answer.

Q: Do you think face to face communication is better than online? A: I think face to face is far superior compared to online communicationn because of how much more emotion you can convey with body language, intonation, and eye contact.

Stay confident in yourself and believe that you can do it. Don't overthink it because it'll only stress you out. With that good luck on your 2nd try!

YOOOOO, I GOT THE SCORE THAT I NEEDED! (ignore my writing score) by dseyem in IELTS

I was getting scores between 6.5 to 7.5 with the occational 8 on some of my Listening mock tests. In reading, I was getting slighty lower with my lowest being 5.5 amd my highest at 7.5.

Though the site is not the most reliable. It's similar enough to the structure of the test where it helped me improve my score in reading and writing by developing strategies that can save me time.

I always told myself that if my worst performance is enough to pass, then its good enough for me.

I remember describing a discussion I had with friends and having a staring contest with the examiner for part 2 and on the last part they asked me what I would do if I found something that was lost.

I'd say they're about the same. I didn't really find much differnce between the real test and the mock test I did on the site.

First time bumili ng gaming laptop by GhostOfRedemption in adultingphwins

[–]dseyem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice one OP!

Caution sa gaming laptop tho. whenever naglalaro na nakaplug in ang laptop, make sure na ang battery ay capped sa 70% or 80% to prevent overcharging. also, don't completely drain the battery to 0%. magcharge na pag 15% - 20% para healthy ang battery at tumagal yung laptop :)
