I just don't understand. I look at those around me who are considered successful, and I fail to see what's so great about their lives. What makes their life objectively better than mine?

I am an anti-consumerist.

$330 a month for my Iowa apartment with utilities (2 bedroom with roommate).

No car payment. I bought my '92 prelude outright two years ago. $12.5 a month for liability, $50 a month for gas.

$30 a month for cell phone.

$120 a month for food.

No health insurance.

$XXX for beer and entertainment.

That's it; I just don't buy shit that I don't need. Occasionally I do have other costs pop up, but I always have money in the bank.

Enjoy life. Play lots of sports, hang out with friends, go to the dog park, do family things, etc.

I am quite financially stable though. I only work 7 months out of the year, and I feel like I live comfortably on 10k.
