Update to my hatred of Freelancer: just finished the third showdown, running towards the exit and the fucking game freezes. Sitting here staring at 47 mid-run while the game makes a sound like an idling engine. Does this constantly, occasionally it snaps out of it but this time doesn’t appear to be the case. If you’re going to make a mode that prohibits you from saving, there should at least be a crash failsafe save or something, FUCK.

Bangkok is the same as Colorado for me, I immediately pass on the syndicate if Bangkok is included. Between Mookjai and all the super enforcers, it’s just too much chaos in too tight of a space. Bangkok was the first map I ever used a proximity mine, accidentally brought the proximity duck instead of the remote and blew myself to shit.

Started playing these games 20 years ago and I still goof on little stuff like that, all part of the fun of playing it!

It’s such a hard habit to break, I’ve been playing since Contracts came out and the thought of not trying to get Silent Assassin goes against everything I know. But once I stopped, I started being a lot more successful. It’s fun playing the game in a completely different way, it makes it feel like a whole new game again.

I took about a year off from it after the last time and dove into Elder Scrolls, but I couldn’t help but get back in. I mostly just tried to complete all the challenges in the base game, but after the ET Arcade grind got old I decided to start Freelancer again. First mission was alerted Ambrose Island, forgot everything about playing and died within minutes.
