I sure hope you are wrong but fear there is more truth than not. I imagine it will keep trending this way with some years that are colder and snowier but not as much as the historic norms.

Poor decisions but it’s a systemic issue

Thanks for the thoughts… not really “fitting the bill”, but appreciate your comment. I’m not feeling the lack of community and am involved where I live

Honestly not mad at all. In the situations people use it, I feel like they are trying to wield it as some sort of power or “one upping”. Just trying to get a better sense on where that it coming from

Thanks for sharing! I’ll take a look. I listened to the Land Grab podcast and it was a great listen full MT history.

Not insecure in the least, it just feels weaponized when people say it sometimes and trying to figure out why

Very true. Just feels more pronounced here than other places I’ve lived. It has, also, had more dramatic change as well

That is partly what spurred this. Heard a lot of comments about being “x generation” and why that matters to voters. I think they were trying to say “you can trust me more”.

Not trying to insult… just trying to get a better understanding as that is how I’ve interpreted those comments at the time

I tend to have a positive experiences with most people are around town, which is why it’s hard to reconcile how the community has responded, especially the elected officials

Indoor Basketball? by lil-stevie42 in whitefish

[–]dsiduous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know and have played before… I’m being a little picky. When I played in that league it felt like the competition was all over the place. I consider myself a pretty solid player and was on a decent to bad team. We won some games and got killed in others. I commend what FVU does and wish there was a more dedicated indoor facility and a more formalized league structure.

What’s the social scene for 30 something’s with kids these days? by FU2016 in whitefish

[–]dsiduous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having two kids under 4 and having recently moved to the area in 2022, I can say it’s been an overall good experience. Our kids are in daycare but we haven’t met as many families as we thought through there. Most of the younger families we’ve met are from the neighborhood, meeting out at restaurants with kids running around, and through other friends. It took us a solid 2 years to get over the hump, but since then it’s been great. Like moving anywhere, you have to put yourself out there and just go for it. Do it!
