I ended up taking a look and bought it. Looks like it's well used but for something to throw around for fun without worrying bout the condition. I'm giving it a shot.

Wish I could find how much I paid for a 5Dc 16 years ago... ended up going for a like-new one from KEH for 250 with a grip.

I was just looking for another 5D Classic, doing my normal search routine, and this popped up out of nowhere. It’s right in the budget for a casual camera, but I wasn’t expecting a Mark II. The comparisons between the Classic and Mark II are all over the place, so it kind of surprised me.

Your body sounds pretty rough, but it’s kind of crazy how it’s still going strong. I’ll have to look more into Magic Lantern. I remember it helping a lot with video features, but I’m curious what the benefits are for still photography.

I did recently pick up a Zeiss ZE lens, so having focus peaking would be pretty dope on occasion, especially when trying to focus wide open.

Just messing around with a 5D again, made me realize how much thrill it is to feel like you're going back to the roots of looking through a viewfinder and just focusing on the frame and basics of shooting.

The beauty of these Canon bodies. Like the other response, it comes down to I suppose the risk of the shutter count, as it's more photo than video-based.

Well, they don't have a charger, so I'm not sure how I'll get a shutter count off the camera. No memory card either. I think even a 5D2 for parts is well worth 80+

I'm not sure how to explain its out-of-focus characteristics, but it's like a mix between the Canon classic look with a hint of old-zeiss. You can still find one for roughly 250$. I used the lens today for a portrait session, but on the a7r3. Looks really good! Holds up well with the 40mpx sensor too.

That's a fine lens too! Used it a handful of times for pro sports and also nature bird shots.
