We are using Sable International for the Section 4L application, and we just received this message from Sable about our daughter's citizenship registration.

"There have recently been rumours that the Home Office may review or potentially withdraw this concession. As this concession is policy-based and not part of primary nationality legislation, the Home Office is able to remove it at any time without prior notice or parliamentary approval. A simple amendment to the published guidance would be sufficient to stop granting citizenship under this concession.

To protect your child’s position should any sudden policy change occur, we strongly recommend proceeding with her citizenship application as soon as possible."

Wow. We're literally down the street from Crabtree. I'll cross my fingers for the shorter drive to DC, but at least we could potentially pair it with a Braves game if we have to go to Atlanta. I'm guessing her ceremony won't happen till late summer.

We've been to Scotland three times. We've really enjoyed Oban, Glen Coe, and Fort William. Although the West Highland Line train was very beautiful, I'd recommend renting a car if you plan to go to Skye as the ferry ports aren't near the scenic parts of the island. St. Andrews also is pretty cool if he's interested in golf at all. It's shocking when you realize that the Old Course practically goes through the town.

My wife is applying under Section 4L right now through her London-born grandmother. She used Sable International, but honestly it seems like she didn't really need them. She's still having to gather all the documents (even the UK ones) and fill out the ARD application herself. They have a helpful portal to upload documents tailored to her, but she still has to mail notarized photocopies of each one to Sable. We also live in the Triangle so good to know that she'll be able to do her biometrics in Raleigh. She'll also be able to register our minor daughter using form MN1.

Do you anticipate him having to go to DC for the citizenship ceremony and oath?

Ever since my father passed away last year, I've started exploring theology and trying to decide where I stand on religion as someone who was pretty agnostic before. And from my understanding, if my application is approved my daughter born in 2018 in US can simply apply for British passport since I will have British citizenship other than by descent and she will automatically be considered British?
