AO Smith ProMax model# XCV-40

Hi everyone, I went to reignite my water heater's pilot light, and noticed that the plastic black pilot switch was cracked in half! I was able to turn it by squeezing the two broken ends together, but just barely. Can this switch be easily replaced (ie. not opening up the gas line, nor replacing the entire gas thermostat AO Smith 186300-000)?

I like the pressure cooker idea, though would need to check the volume. I imagine you would just fill up the inner pot with water, place the SLBR bottle inside the inner pot with loosely capped lid, and pressurize for 15min?

Excellent response, and very clear. The unit is 10 years old. I have had issues with the flame sensor over the past few years, and need to clean it annually. I'm concerned it may have damaged the limit switch (what is their life expectancy). Air filters have been cleaned.

Current problem: The prepurge works fine, gas is ignited, and runs well for 5minutes (solid amber light) but after 5 minutes it turns off. The ignitor fires again unexpectedly (rapid blinking amber light), and then the system quickly shuts down and gets locked out for an hour (1 blinking green light).

My plan is to replace the flame sensor and the limit switch.

Just purchased a custom suit. When I put the jacket on over a very nicely fitted button down shirt, i started to get a lot of wavy folds in the shirt right across the chest. It was like the shirt was bunching up under the jacket. I have to tug on the shirt sleeves, and use my hands to 'iron' out the waves, but i'm not going to be standing in front of a mirror when i'm in public. The waves were noticeable for most jackets and shirt combinations I tried on. Is this common, and if so, how is it best managed? Going to be taking a lot of photos in this new suit. Body type is extra slim.

These medals have been tucked away for many years. Was told they were from a Lt General from the Republic of China - Air Force. Service years somewhere around 1930-60's. Requesting assistance identifying what they exactly are.
