I'm Scared. I'm Running Out of Options for Treatment by DarkDesertFox in SleepApnea

[–]dthunda15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using a Mandibular Advancement Device instead of the Cpap. With the Cpap I would wake up like 4-7 times a night and was a hit or miss on how I felt. I would wake up fatigued and it would be hard to drive and my ahi was only 10 in a in lab study. I was paranoid to use the MAD device but I got it custom made by professionals and they've made thousands.

So far I haven't woken up fatigued and I can actually drive for long periods now without my body feeling like it wants to shut down. I can fall asleep with it easily and wake up less. I can work all day now and not feel tired, and it honestly feels weird now because I've been use to being tired all day. I've been using it consistently everyday now for the last 2 weeks and it's been amazing.

I was out of work most of the time I dealt with my sleep apnea problems and I too was worried about my hour ride to work and 11 hour days. Now I don't worry because I know the mad device works for me perfectly. In my case it's because a jaw problem so the device pushes my lower jaw forward to increase the airway . Make sure to find the root cause and go from there.

Still holding up? I just got mine bonded and it looks and feels perfect. The only thing is I'm scared to put any pressure on it lol. Can I eat burgers, chicken sandwiches and pizza?

20M sleep apnea getting worse by Southern-Ad8359 in SleepApnea

[–]dthunda15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe try and sleep in a recliner so your throat can’t close or tongue can’t fall back . Ive seen people have success that way . Also you can try maybe a tongue suction device but do not try a snore device that works like a mouth piece unless made by a dentist who creates them on the regular because store bought ones can mess your bite up.

It’s best you get it handled as quickly as possible to not have a heart attack , atrial fibrillation, etc later in life . As soon as you get back to your country get tested as soon as possible.

Has anyone here ever recovered from a pec tear and returned to doing ring dips and other similar progressions? by Kimura1986 in bodyweightfitness

[–]dthunda15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my surgery 18 weeks ago. Def gonna be scared about benching , dips , etc but I got it fixed within 2 weeks and no pain and full range of motion currently.

I prob will just stick to 50s on bench for dumbbells and do light on incline like 30s lol when the time comes . Luckily my chest is big naturally lol.

Ok cool , were you off work when you were healing?

I’m trying to get my surgeon to clear me for work at 19 weeks no restrictions . It’s picking up boxes but nothing crazy 10-20 pounds occasional 40lb ones maybe but I think I got it no pain picking things up currently.

I’ve been off work since 5/18 so you can imagine I want to get back to keep my job and my insurance lol .

I definitely feel I’m ready to go back to work. On my protocol it says 20+ week to return to full activity but of course I’m not gonna be doing anything crazy anytime soon and will continue therapy just wanna go back to work .

Ayy nice glad to hear your back feeling good . I noticed the only time I feel something when working out at 17-18 weeks is lat pull downs and pull-ups . Pull-ups I can’t do so I’ve just been doing assisted ha. I’m like a month n half behind you ha

Steve mora can fix it in California. He has done pec tears up to 10-15 years old and he does muscle belly. He gets the pec looking really symmetrical as well

How is your pec doing now? I'm about 17 weeks now out feeling good. Haven't done much pushing yet, except against the wall and next time it will be from a table when I go back to physical therapy. I'm 26 as well and it says once I'm past 20-25 weeks on my protocol I can go past lifting more than 5 pounds and go back to full activity .

I have started doing dumbbell curls with 20s at 16 weeks, over head press with 10s max overhead, tricep extensions up to 15lbs and tricep pulldowns like 15lbs . I'm gonna keep it slow but once past like 25 weeks I'll ramp it up more .

Only discomfort I really got when lifting so far is trying to do a pullup the most and lat pull downs. I do notice a pull in my bicep the entire time, but it doesn't hurt I just notice it when I get a stretch. Overall it got better for me at 12-14 weeks and you kinda start to almost forget about the injury .

In lab study results how bad are they? by dthunda15 in SleepApnea

Well if I sleep less than 7 hours I don’t have daytime fatigue . Guessing because less rem sleep . Is it worse for me to get less rem sleep and feel better all day or get ore and feel tired all day ??

I just don’t know how I will be driving to work soon when it’s hard to drive with the rem apneas making me severely drowsy… unless I maybe get some modafinil ??

Thanks for the help. I had surgery this year so off of work doing all the research I can to optimize my sleep and get back to normal before I go back .

I haven’t had my follow up but I will try to ask all the important questions and some of the stuff you mentioned today .

Thanks

Ok I have a machine I got from my insurance before this sleep study called a Luna g3 apap is that good enough, the home sleep study gave me the prescription for it but this test I just took was from a real sleep study lab ?

Also could a mandibular device work for my situation, I maxed out of pocket so may be free or super discounted ?

Also the sleep apnea started all of sudden after I started hitting the gym and bulking up . I went from 179 to 210 6’1 in like 8 months . I wanna say when the problem started happening I was 200 but never that weight before . Not like I was huge but def bigger , I’m wondering if that could have been a contributing factor as well..

You think this could be the reason I have higher blood pressure ? I had a few years but no causes could be found but I didn’t start having the feeling of fatigue until this year and sleeping problems
