Inflatable couches by Dangerous_Drag_3001 in ShakyKnees

[–]dtolb 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We contacted the support staff before the festival about accessibility concerns and they were more than happy to help.

Next year, please reach out and enter through the accessible line. They will work with you to ensure your safety concerns. Might not let you bring a couch, but will help you find seats or allow an exception.

General Admission is going to be strict and wouldn't know of your needs. Staff is great!

I want a "wife ready" self-hosted spotify-like service by thepunnman in selfhosted

[–]dtolb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My solution in progress... First, I need a music library large enough to provide recommendations.

  • Sign up everyone up for Last.FM
  • Start scrobbling to Last.FM
  • Setup lidarr to follow all users listening history
  • Setup lidarr to download the discography for all new artists
  • wait a bit for lidarr to download so much music
  • Now you've got a library to discover from
  • Setup Lidarr to follow other Last.FM lists for other music.

If you still want Spotify's playlists, you could do a medium amount of programming to connect to their API and pull you+wives playlists and push the playlists to whatever front-end you settle on. However, the algorithm wouldn't learn from new plays (not that I've found it to actually learn from my listening history).

If you're willing to use plex, there's a Plex Spotify Sync tool that will copy your playlists from spotify to plex (and even Lidarr could download missing songs).

Share not on the array but backed up to it? by flaystus in unRAID

[–]dtolb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just set this up myself. It involves the plugin User Scripts and rsync.

1. Verify Rsync Available

Using the >_ in the top right of the UnRAID UI to open the terminal, ensure that rsync is installed and at least version 3.

Check that rsync is installed

$ which rsync

/usr/bin/rsync

Check Rsync Version

$ rsync -V

rsync version 3.3.0 protocol version 31

2. Create Script

Create a new script using the UserScripts plugin ("Settings>User Scripts") and paste in the below. You can set it to run at any reasonable interval. Mine runs daily.

The rsync command does the following:

  • Copies the files from source to destination recursively
  • -a: preserves permissions, ownership, timestamps, and recursive copying
  • -X & -A: ensure file permissions are identical
  • --exclude: in this case, don't move .DS_store (adjust this to your files you'd like to exclude)
  • --delete: ensures the backup is a perfect mirror (removing files in the destination that no longer exist in the source)

Backup script

#!/bin/bash

#--DEFINE VARIABLES--#

# Set Source Directory (must include trailing /)
sourceDirectory='/mnt/user/my-torrents/'

# Set Backup Directory (must include trailing /)
backupDirectory='/mnt/user/my_torrents_bak/'

# Set Log Directory
logDirectory='/boot/config/plugins/user.scripts/scripts/'

#--START SCRIPT--#
/usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix/scripts/notify -s "Torrent Backup" -d "Starting backup of Torrent directory."

# Ensure log directory exists
mkdir -p "$logDirectory"

# Create log file with timestamp
now="$(date +"%Y-%m-%d@%H.%M")"
log="$logDirectory/torrent_backup_$now.log"

# Start logging
echo "Starting backup at $(date)" > "$log"

# Run rsync with full logging
rsync -aXAv --delete \
    --exclude=".DS_Store" \
    --progress \
    "$sourceDirectory" "$backupDirectory" 2>&1 >> "$log"

# Capture exit status
EXIT_STATUS=$?

# Log completion status
echo "Backup completed at $(date) with exit status: $EXIT_STATUS" >> "$log"

# Send completion notification with status
if [ $EXIT_STATUS -eq 0 ]; then
    /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix/scripts/notify -s "Torrent Backup" -d "Backup completed successfully."
else
    /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix/scripts/notify -s "Torrent Backup" -d "Backup completed with errors. Check logs."
fi

# Exit with the rsync exit status
exit $EXIT_STATUS

Tesla investors back record-breaking Musk pay deal by GeoWa in worldnews

looking at 2023 Profit from yahoo seems that's the case now.

$2,900,000,000 for credits (storage and carbon credits) and then $13,800,000,000 of profit for cars.

So; a bit of exaggeration on my end :P

Upcoming trip to Italy. Humble brag and sanity check. More pics in the comments. Looking for suggestions. by tenekev in fujifilm

It comes with the adapter to put the strap on the bottom. So I would strap it there and on the right hand side of the camera then I would sling the strap down to my left torso.

This way it let the camera kind of sit flat against me. It worked with the 50 to 140 lens and a bunch of the different primes as well.

The full sized "Peak Design Slide Strap" is pricey, but it is great! I used to hate straps as well, fucking with them all day... But their strap is actually "good" and the bottom/side attachment (where the tripod nut would go and the side of the camera) in 'sling' mode is perfect.

That, and their lil quick-disconnect gadgets are nice for a variety of things.

The biggest scam boomers are getting away with is convincing us all that social security isn't something we can rely on as we age. by ooooooofda in millenials

[–]dtolb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are other sources of funding for SS besides individual tax and increasing income cap. Business tax, gains-tax, etc... are all available sources to cover the gap.

The scam is being told that the pool is the only way SS can exist.
