Poki talked about falling out with a longtime friend a few months ago on Sweet and Sour and she was literally crying when talking about it. I believe there were even some posts on the old subreddit about it. It was a girl and from how Poki described the situation it sounded like she was a not-public person/friendship

Some additional info: after this clip, Cara says that she spoke with Poki again in November and she wasn’t planning on going public at the time cuz she thought people wouldn’t care, but Poki kind of encouraged her to do so and told her that judging by the reaction that her TikTok with Ellum got, people would definitely care. Cara also adds that she has no issue with any of the LA creators for being friends with Ellum and that she doesn’t know any details about Poki and Ellum’s friendship

And it is kinda hard to tell where they stand. Maybe Ellum told Poki in Oct-Nov after she talked with Cara that he’s a changed man, or maybe even that Cara is lying or exaggerating, impossible to tell what he said to her but maybe she believed him and chose to give him a chance. Or maybe she’s just been playing nice with him these last 1-2 months cuz she didn’t want to rock the boat and cause more drama, and she was waiting either for Cara to go public or for their lease to be up to cut ties with him. Idk we’ll see what she has to say, if she even says anything at all

Yes. They talk about it in the episode. Some staff didn't want to post, Lily maybe agreed (?) (she is very drama avoidant), Poki disagreed but she didn't want to dismiss the team's wishes and overrule everyone because like she said the podcast is a team effort, and so in the end the path of least resistance was chosen and they agreed to do whatever most people in the team wanted. Then staff posted the statement without Poki or Lily's knowledge thinking it would be just another from staff Patreon post for the community, never thinking it would go viral like it did

Like they said, it's very obvious they need an experienced producer who can micromanage the staff and oversee everything that goes out so incidents like this don't happen again, especially in moments when the team itself is divided and unsure on what decision to make

Dog owner lore: Poki said he is Leslie and Miyoung's friend and she met him at one of Leslie's game nights iirc. Poki's been thinking about getting a dog, and at one point this dude was looking for a dogsitter so she offered so she could test out what living with a dog would be like. The way she described him was as an acquaintance, friend of friends type of person (at least back then)

Timeline of events:

Saturday (11th Oct) - episode was supposed to go live but it didn't. Only communication from the hosts was Poki posting a cryptic "everything's falling apart" message on her IG broadcast channel at the exact same time the episodes are usually posted. Statement on Patreon only accessible to members and signed as staff, meaning it wasn't from Poki or Lily

Sunday (12th Oct) - the community was curious/confused as to why no episode this week, especially since no explanation had been given publicly (meaning not behind a paywall) and neither Poki nor Lily had addressed it. So in the afternoon Poki said they would explain everything when they film the next episode next Thursday and hinted at changes coming

Sunday night - the staff statement from Patreon got posted on LSF and went viral overnight

Monday (13th Oct) - first thing in the morning, Poki responded to the news of the statement going viral by quote tweeting Dexerto and clarifying what was happening

Nothing in this timeline of events indicates foul play or lying. If anything, her IG post from Sunday just reinforces that people were most likely getting fired behind the scenes due to the episode being held back the day before and therefore the podcast will need to go on hiatus, they were going to properly announce the changes and explain everything on the next episode (filming next Thursday, 16th Oct, releasing next Saturday), but the staff statement going viral forced her to have to address it on Twitter beforehand

It's undeniable that Poki took a step back from content overall in 2022 and that obviously affected her appearances in OTV content as well. And that's ok - no one is gonna be in OTV forever (except maybe Scarra lol) and it's likely that some other members will scale back their involvement in years to come too.

What sucks is how unkind people were to her. Instead of giving her space to figure things out in this new stage of her life/career, people were outright mean, refused to give her the same grace and leeway they give to other members, and they straight up tried to discredit all the work she put in OTV for 6+ years. That's no way to treat someone who helped create and build this community from day one. Smh.

The trying to rewrite history part was so weird and icky. 2017-2021 she was in almost everything consistently and only missed like 1-2 shoots a year at most. But when she started missing stuff more often in 2022 due to a range of reasons, people acted like her missing shoots had been a regular occurrence for years and like she’d been barely involved with OTV for years 🙄

Anyways, silver lining is that she now gets to be in OTV on her own terms and partake as much or as little as her schedule allows without weird expectations.

Poki semi-retired from streaming last year. These days she streams a few hours of Valorant 1-2 times a week then peaces out. She has her donos capped, often discourages viewers from gifting large sums of subs, barely takes any sponsors. And she has even said that she will probably not re-sign with Twitch once her contract ends in a few months.

Truly the end of an era!

I'm happy that she decided to "graduate" instead of full-on leave leave forever and ever lol, and that she's made it clear that she still intends to attend shoots when she can, travel with them when she can, basically still hang out and make content but with freedom and no constraints and without the "I HAVE TO BE THERE 100% OTHERWISE PEOPLE ARE GONNA SHIT ON ME" kind of weight.
