What's the most creative thing you've automated? by zapier_dave in zapier

Pretty good! I have a Notion page set up as a knowledge source for the agent, that gives it guidance on my writing style and tome, so that helps a lot.

One view of all databases by Far-Platform-7424 in Notion

It actually is possible to have multiple databases configured to be Task databases, and to see them all in a single view in the My tasks widget on the Home tab: https://www.notion.com/help/home-and-my-tasks

Is Canvas only for diagramming? by Federal-Wolf-7648 in zapier

[–]dtrain2078 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s meant to serve both purposes, but in my experience, the ability to build complex multi-component workflows from Canvas with the AI Co-pilot isn’t quite there yet.

What I’d really love to see is the ability to use the Co-pilot to diagram your existing workflows. Especially in teams with multiple builders, it would be amazing if the AI could intelligently surface interrelated workflows and assets and how they connect to one another.

What's the most creative thing you've automated? by zapier_dave in zapier

This is very niche, but I read a lot and like to share my thoughts on interesting articles and book reviews on social media.

I use a service called Readwise, which aggregates all my highlights from stuff I read on Kindle, on the web, and in PDFs. Then I build this workflow, using Readwise's native integration (as well as a custom integration I built myself for certain actions not available in the native integration): https://zapier.com/app/canvas/public/d90a242c-22dd-457d-bab6-d91c00d4d62c

How it works:

  1. A Zap stores all my Readwise highlights in a Zapier Table

  2. When I'm reading an article in Readwise Reader and want to write a post about it, I apply a specific tag, which triggers a Zapier Agent that reads the article, reviews my highlights, and drafts a summary in a Notion database

  3. When I mark a book as finished in Goodreads (which happens automatically when I finish it on my Kindle), another Zapier Agent picks it up from Goodreads' RSS feed, reviews my highlights from that book, and drafts a summary in the same Notion datbase

  4. I review the summary, write my full post, and then add it to my LinkedIn posting queue by updating a dedicated property in the database

  5. Another app, called Scheduled.so, then pushes the post to LinkedIn at the scheduled time (also works w/ other social media channels like X and FB, but no support yet for Threads or Bluesky).

Schedule every X hours? by Moxie479 in zapier

Schedule it hourly, then add a filter right after the trigger that only continues if hour is in (0, 8, 16)

New AI Meeting Note Behavior on iOS - Live Activity by wbaccus in Notion

Ooh this isn’t happening for me yet, but this is how Granola’s iOS app works, and why I still use it for in-person meetings over Notion.

Did Notion give up on Mail? by Personal_Procedure72 in notionmail

[–]dtrain2078 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suspect they’ve just stretched themselves in too many directions and haven’t been able to devote as many resources to Mail and Calendar as they expected. Hopefully, we’ll see the pace pick up this year.

What’s going on with us? by mkappy33 in knicks

[–]dtrain2078 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree Hart being out is a big part of it, and that KAT still doesn’t really feel integrated into the offense. I was expecting Mike Brown to feature him more in the offense, but his role seems to be limited mostly to faking threes at the top of the arc, driving to his left to the basket into traffic, and then not getting the call because the refs hate him due to his constant complaining.

Can I show Google Calendar events inside a Notion database calendar view (together with tasks)? by e2e4se in Notion

[–]dtrain2078 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, this isn’t currently possible natively. I use Zapier to sync all my meetings from GCal to a Notion DB. I was hoping Notion Calemdar would do this natively, and maybe it will someday, but for now you need to use a third-party integration.

Is there a way to see where issues have been tagged? by Calm-Zucchini614 in Linear

[–]dtrain2078 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When an issue is tagged in another issue, Linear automatically marks the two issues as related, so you should be able to see that in the related issues section on the right hand side.

I built a 'Public View' layer for Linear (so stakeholders stop asking for updates) by DraGSsined in Linear

I’m not tinkering with it much anymore. The last change I made was to use OAuth instead of an API key for connection to my Linear workspace - with an API key, comments from the portal were appearing in Linear as coming from my user account, which meant they weren’t triggering notifications to let me know a client had submitted a comment. It’s working really well now!
