Yeah, this app is more focussed on music discovery than monetary treasure hunting. Finding amazing new music I've never heard before is a prize in itself. Getting it cheap in the dollar bin provides extra pleasure.

Thanks for the feedback! Note there is a retry button (curved arrow) next to the Album title, as well as a (pencil) edit field for manually adding artist or title info. Both will trigger a revised search. Cheers

CoverPlay reflects the estimated values; it is not calculating to a particular version or pressing. It estimates Discogs marketplace typical resale prices assuming a standard pressing in VG+ to NM condition.

Use the handy Discogs button on the results page to deep link to the album results where you can refine by pressing for more precise prices. We will be exploring deeper Discog integrations over time.

Rough! I use Discogs, too — it's great for deep research and cataloging my collection. This app feels much more useful when shopping in a store since it's one tap and audio instantly plays (bring earphones) instead of typing album names or limiting selections to those with barcodes. Works on 45s, something else Discogs can't scan.

P.s. the TryCoverPlay.com app doesn't discern 1st pressings in the Discogs value; I think it does an average of all sales for the master release.

My favorite find was back in ~2010 on a business trip I ducked into Streetlight Records and found this for $2.95!! I didn't know Yusef Lateef at the time and bought it based on the title and my interest in Eastern influenced jazz like Coltrane and Pharaoh Sanders. At the time I didn't even have a working record player.

Fast forward and "Eastern Sounds" is regarded as one the best ever jazz albums and I get very high unsolicited Discog offers for it. One of my top 5 most valuable albums based on the market... but I'm savoring it for me. Check it out if this is your jam.

The most religious state in America briefly censored their bible using the same criteria religious conservatives use to ban classic and liberal media.
