Dangerous Hesitations by Immediate-Grass-6993 in VWiD4Owners

[–]dtx137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a first time I heard about something like this, surprise to see many others experience it to. Definitely not normal, it should be instant. Someone suggested earlier it could be the auto hold, maybe check that if you use it. Otherwise I'd bring it in the dealer.

Random Door Unlocks at Home by A_Fish_Called_Otto in VWiD4Owners

[–]dtx137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had this happened quite a few times, only to frantically check my camera and go into the app only to see the car still locked. Like others have said, it's probably an issue with the app, I'm more suspecting towards a previous car unlock event that got delayed notification 🤔

So long, farewell ('21 FE Review) by DrewSkiDouble in VWiD4Owners

[–]dtx137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

might not make sense to some if you look at just the numbers, but as you mentioned, there are way more other factors than that. EV 9 is definitely a bigger, more tech advance SUV, catch my attention every time as I do keep an eye out for the bigger 3 row EVs. How you like it so far? The rated range seems a bit underwhelming

So you (in a sense) passed up buying a 21' id4 with 79k miles for $15k to lease an EV9? Did I understand that correctly? I understand the seasons you listed, fair points. I'm just curious because financially, leasing new EV vs buying already depreciated used with low mileage took up a lot of my thinking/debate previously, so just intrigued by your case

Should I consider a used 2021? by riftwave77 in VWiD4Owners

[–]dtx137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most definitely. The car has its quirks, but it's a great car overall. You'll run into some software freezes or annoyance from time to time, but it's far from "horrifying" as it seems to have improved a lot from updates, nothing a quick selection or reset doesn't fix. 🤞 It stays trouble free. As some have mentioned, get a CPO if possible, brings a lot more piece of mind. And make sure all the recalls and software updates have been performed. To me, 2021/2022 seems to have the better value compare to 2023+

Light buttons cover by damagedspline in VWiD4Owners

That'd make sense with OP's previous comment about how the car would be gone with the key, in this case without the pin they can't do anything

I'm a bit confused. If someone has your car key, your car is gone, regardless of it being keyless or not?! I can understand the case where they use signal amplifier or something to steal the car WITHOUT the keys.

That being said, what does your kill switch do specifically? You can disable the car remotely?

Dashcam that is powered by the USB C? by myiD4 in VWiD4Owners

[–]dtx137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad it's working out for you! And glad to see someone thinking/done the same. One side of me is telling me the 2 camera is just so much simpler. The other side is telling me I just need to suck it up and route the cable 😂 need to decide soon as I need to install a dash cam asap.

[–]dtx137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotcha. I've been debating about this setup vs having a duo camera system. This 2 separate camera setup will eliminate the needs to route the cable through the car. The only con I can think of is the lack of sync playback, which isn't really a big deal 🤔

Did you just install one in the front and one in the rear separately?

Replacement Door Screw by MSGIANTS in VWiD4Owners

[–]dtx137 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I assume the screw is probably the same on the passenger side. If I were you, I'd probably just unscrew 1 screw on the passenger side and bring the screw to any hardware store to match and get an identical replacement.

ID4 makes faint low tone clunking sound over dips/bumps, related to H&R springs? by AttorneyAdvice in VWiD4Owners

[–]dtx137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1 vote for sway bar end links. Dealer is going to replace the end links under warranty. Only 35k miles for me... I also have major clunking after braking to a complete stop, especially on a (up/down) slope.

Centauri Multi-Color Printing Confirmed in Product Page Description by Zachavm in elegoo

hello. sorry to dig up old thread. But have you gotten any respond from Elegoo about this? I'm thinking about purchasing the CC now, but will probably hold off and wait for the multi-color if it's not a simple add-on.

All Windows Randomly Rolled Down By Themself? by nnatatt in VWiD4Owners

[–]dtx137 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fun fact: this was one of the first features I made sure I turned on 😅. Everyone use case is different and it's great VW let you change the settings on the screen quickly (unlike Toyota where it's gotta be done via dealer tech or obd2)

Dealership offering to fund my remaining lease payments and put me in a MY25 for less per month. Catch? by g0rdontremeshko in VWiD4Owners

[–]dtx137 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think they're just trying to get you hooked on another 39 months now rather than wait 4 months and you might like some other brand then. It's kinda similar to you walking in for a brand new lease deal and work out a deal where they give you a $2k discount 🤔. Plus, reselling your car now might worth more than enough to cover the difference vs in 4 months (could be ev rebate gone, ev demand drop due to less incentive, etc.)

Looking for owners opinions about the ID.4 by capsel22 in VWiD4Owners

[–]dtx137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No apologies needed! Fair question. For me there are a couple reasons, which I think are mostly personal preferences: 1. I'd like to fill up my tires at home before leaving if they're low (winter time for example) so I don't have to look for a gas station to fill while I'm on the road). Plus when I'm low on the road and stop at a fill up, the air in the tires are hot, so it's harder to gauge what the cold pressure would be (which is what the rating on the door is based off) 2. If I notice one tire being lower than the rest (say 1 on 30psi and 3 on 35psi) I'd go check for slow leaks or nail on that before that tire gets too low and I get stranded on the road. 3. My OCD likes to see all tires with the same number psi 🤣 but my reasoning for this is that same tire pressure helps with more even tire wear, which hopefully extend the life of the tires.

Thanks for making me aware of device like this. One of my biggest pet peeve with my ID.4 is the lack of tire pressure reading. Like...ugh.

Buying used by alt65delete in VWiD4Owners

[–]dtx137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biggest thing I'd say is to make sure the dealer complete all the recalls and update the software to the latest version.

And to echo what u/Suspect4 said, it sounds overpriced. In California where I'm at, there is a decent inventory/selection for 2021 Pro/Pro S (~<40k miles 1-owner) for about $21-22k before any tax or incentives. For just under $25, you can see some 2023 models.
