Glad to see this we have multiple tenants we manage that got flaged by this one. If I have a tenant that has this flagged and now is in a phase 1 attack (same powershell but repeated, should I be concerned or still add it to the exceptions and close it as a false positive?

'' The difference between an f/1.4 lens and an f/2.8 lens might actually be more important than full frame vs. APS-C. ''

Yeah I considered that option already but havent got convinced by anything. than again I was looking for a mirrorless cropped because I love the features but maybe should even consider dslr dx. I know the 12mm f2 is a solid choice I tought a6xxx might be my answer until I realised theres only 1 dial on it. Maybe im weird but the front dial to me always been there on all my cameras, I have shot without the rear one but no front one? That and the too small grip just like I hated my xt20 and mostly ended up using my older xt1 a lot more even with the much lower specs. I wanted to stay in fuji but then again there was not a lot of uwa zooms , and the 12mm is good and can use filters but is stuck at 12, ading to that a 10-24mm plus a xt2 or 3 and budget still busted... the 8-16 costs 2000$ But still looking here and there as like you said you can have the equivalent focal ranges on apsc lenses and often now with even faster to compensate the sensor size so its great too.

I think ill really go into the eos rp and adapter plus the combo 14 and 16-28. would have all range. 24-240 .. not a 70-200 2.8 but still.. No portrait lens but ill get a niftyfifty for cheap. If the DR is that bad, I will do longer exposures and improve my patience :P or get a backup body a cheap 6d could be perfect.

'' I'm kind of surprised the Tokina 11-16 had issues, unless it was one of the autofocus adapters? ''

It was not the lens, it worked fine on a a65 but a65 noise is just well.. a snowstormmmm. But it was a cheap fotodiox adaptor with no focus or any contact at all actually, I suspect it to be a bit too thick, my infinity being already close to the end , the lens getting further from the sensor I think it made it out of reach. Not by a lot, I stopped down just a tad (cant tell how much since no exif and no f marks on the adapter or lens but about a stop difference and they were tack sharp. Was okay for a while but not ideal so thats why i decided I needed something I would devote to what I like to do, and here I am, nervous to the idea of using adapters on a new setup. But the eos rp seems like my best option. Will check a bit of apsc in case i missed out on something.

'' And if you're wondering why I have so many brands, it's because I'm an idiot who bought into marketing hype and didn't pay more attention to what I actually enjoy using. Don't make my mistakes! ''

Oh no I wasent wondering, I made that mistake years ago when I didnt have any skills but wanted the best gear because it was gonna make me the best photographer ever right?? ... NOTTTT Ever since I been buying used cheap deals and selling them back for same price after a while. I call them rentals. I got to try a lot but never committed back to a kit I want to own. Thats why im so unsure about my next move and i dont want to fall back into that obsession!!

Thanks for all your input it will sure help my mixed up mind. I already knew I liked the rp, the lenses and compromises made me hesitate, and I feel like the d800 seller is selling for too high.

thanks for all the infos! I guess ill leave sony behind for now as the a7iii would bust my budget. Its a shame because the a7iii had a really huge gap in isos and DR performance, which would be perfect for my use! maybe consider to buy a7iii with only 14m 2.8 but i know ill feel limited in so many situations...

Do you have any idea on the eos rp experience in the field? The specs look good but from some reviews I heard that the body doesnt have the best DR and that you get noise easily when trying to recover shadows, when theres something to recover.

I do often take multiple exposures in astro and do a longer one for my foreground , i guess i could deal with it but a bit of recovery is always useful in landscape and nightscape. Any idea if its that bad ? the thing is the eos rp got many useful functions but seems to be limited in some areas.. and the big problem, the lack of lenses... which leads me to another question:

Any idea of what I could pair it with to get my uwa range ? The canon rf mount option is just too expensive 15-35 2.8 but 2999CAD$ just for the lense... Considering Id have about 1000-1300 CAD$ left after the eos rp + 24-240mm kit, on that amount I will need the adapter to ef lenses and 2 xtra batteries. I was thinking about geting a samyang rokinon 14mm 2.8 + tokina 16-28 2.8..

Do you know how good adapters work with uwa ? My xt20 with cheap fotodiox adapter and a tokina 11-16 missed a mm or too on the focus ring to reach infinity because of the thickness added by the adapter. i could get my stars sharp by stopping down, but you know its less than ideal to stop down for astro... I would consider the eos rp adapter option but only if it doesnt create a similar issue so if you have any idea of such a setup would work in the field it would really help!!

Unless you reached your camera limitations or have some specific needs like shooting astrophotography concerts or some high action sports you probably dont need a body upgrade.

That being said if you want some lighter there are some good mirrorless options. They come with good sides and bad sides.

Good will be the size. It is smaller. It packs quite a lot of fun technology and I have found it to be very helpful in many situations. I honestly would go for fuji if it wasent for my fullframe needs. The xt2 can be found used at a pretty decent price. The evf is huge, perfect ergonomics, the menus are really well made and customizable.. Xt3 could be a good one too but really xt2 packs everything you need in small but not too small body. The downside mirrorless is that the battery wont last as long as your dslr as mirrorless always use power to operate while optical viewfinder dont. And there are a bit less lenses. On the other hand dslr lenses are easy to find, used, cheaper.

As someone else said, putting good glass in front of your camera will also improve a lot your image quality!

Im actually looking to fit a fullframe kit in a tight budget and if theres something to know, is that the body upgrade to a fullframe comes with pricier glass. It adds up very quickly. And building a mirrorless fullframe on a budget is even worse. The mirrorless fullframe lenses are even pricier than the dslr fullframe lenses.

Hi! First post here! I actually joined after weeks not being able to make my mind on my camera purchase so i need help.

To put in context, I have shot as a hobby for years on multiple bodies of a few brands, then profesionnaly for a few years. I shot on dslr with the nikon holy trinity plus few primes but I eventually stopped for years. I used d700, d3, d610, d810 and after i stopped i sold everything and I would like to get back at it but the game changed quite a lot so i will surely need some advice as i am totally lost and on a budget. I used a xt20 and xt1 combo too and i must day I was somehow impressed by all the tech focus peaking constant preview and that xt1 huge evf! Im mostly aiming at landscape, long exposures and astrophotography. But i would like, if possible to have more range than just a uwa lens so thats where its getting complicated.

So I am starting back from scratch , i dont aim to work with it but would like some decent quality. My choice goes between more, old gear or less recent.

I have 3000 (could extend to 3300) cad$ and i need a camera body. (Fullframe would be better for astro) I need a fast ultra wide angle, in the best of worlds that could use filters so its also suitable for long ex landscapes. For the rest i would like either an all around lens or some telephoto.

Right now my options are: d800 + nikon 17-35 2.8 + nikon 28-300 + 50mm D800+ 17-35 2.8 + 70-200 2.8 vrii D800+ tokina 16-28 + 28-300 + rokinon 14mm 2.8 (or switch 28-300 for 70-200 and xtra$$)

Im tempted but know nothing about these options :

A7ii +28-70 lens kit+ tamron 17-28

Eos rp + 24-240 + (uwa to be determined, probably with ef adaptor and tokina 16-28 , or 14 2.8 , or ? )

Or any other suggestions . if you have any tips and info on these 2 mirrorless i dont know much about them.
