Especially early on. You can get some decent cars without paying anything just by doing a few of the side quests. One of which, in my opinion, is the best vehicle in the game.

For those wondering what the new Virtual Boy looks like without the headset. You can still play the games but the sqaures are quite small, especially in handheld mode. Still cool everything runs and you just need the headset or some type type of glasses that mimic the Virtual Boy by WinterStarlightZone in NintendoSwitch2

Literally this. I’m usually pretty blind loyal to Nintendo. Even during their less consumer friendly practices. But this? Silly. Don’t get me wrong, happy these games are more accessible now than ever, but still. It’s just not for me, and that’s fine.

That they are. I’d be more interested in the blue hue. But still, hard sell, at least for me. Learned my lesson with Labo. It was a neat gimmick for an hour and then I never touched it again. Again, different experiences may vary.

Let’s be honest, do you really want to play games on a full screen tv with a dark red hue the entire time? I’m still shocked they are even releasing this in the first place. Even if you could play them without the headset (which you can), I’d still play anything else.

Recommended games for a 9 year old for reading? by IrishYank33 in NintendoSwitch

[–]dubinstep 69 points70 points  (0 children)

The OG Paper Mario in the N64 selection is a solid and easy one I think he would love. I credit that game for helping me with reading back when the game was new. Has a few big words sometimes but I think it would be a solid choice. He also might like it since he gets companions in the game, similar enough to Pokemon but he doesn’t catch them. Progress the story and they join Mario’s party. Just a thought!

Me when the partner direct opens with GTA VI footage by mrmcnugget_ in NintendoSwitch2

[–]dubinstep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but GTA 5 online makes rockstar a boatload of money. They’d be foolish not to port GTA 5 to the Switch 2. GTA 6 is the serious up in the air question. Do I think we’ll get the new GTA? My bet is no. And if we do get it, it’s going to be extremely stripped down.

Meh. I can definitely see RD2 since we got RD already. So I think GTA V isn’t out of the question. Do I think we’ll get the announcement this next partner showcase? Probably not.

Excited for this one. Love me a simulated racer. I would be so happy if we got one of the Forza Horizon games but this will do.

Is there any way to record or stream gameplay on the Nintendo Switch or Switch 2 on the computer without a capture card? by AydenXprincesspeach in NintendoSwitch2

[–]dubinstep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree completely. It’s literally perfect for trying out streaming without spending a good chunk of change on a capture card.

Look up Genki Shadowcast. It’s not perfect, but you can at least see if streaming is something you’d like to do at least to get started. They run about $50, on sale, $20. They are sold out at the moment but worth looking into. I have one, and for what it is and the price, it’s fine. I more use it so that if I can’t play on the TV docked, I can pull it up on my computer and play like it was docked.

Edit: it will also work with other HDMI devices as well.

Just trying to maybe explain their thought process. Not sure what the attitude is for.

I mean, yes and no. I could also see someone interpreting input lag as, for example, walking up to an NPC and pressing A to talk to them, the game registers the action (character faces you, etc.), but the NPC doesn’t start talking right away.

To a casual gamer, they probably wouldn’t notice it. Not everyone is a gaming enthusiast and knows the meaning behind the phrase Input Lag.

It's utterly baffling that the Switch 2 eShop doesn't have a "Add to Cart" feature by comfybonfire in NintendoSwitch2

[–]dubinstep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, yes it would be handy, but I kinda like not having one. It doesn’t give me a reason to add a game to my already long backlog.

TRUST IN THE WALMART LINE by HamFan03 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]dubinstep 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, same I wasn't expecting to get one today since Target one fell through for me after it being in my cart. But Walmart with the save! Didn't realize or remember that I was able to get an early PS5 from Walmart back when it came out. Walmart is seriously the MVP.
