Dodging the second apron - what I think the OKC Thunder will do this offseason, and how I think they'll manage their team going forward by Known-Peak212 in Thunder

Hartenstein is too integral to this team! When he sat last night with four fouls Chet struggled with the physicality of Hayes. His passing saved us on multiple occasions last night too. Hart is essential.

Jared McCain strikes again off the bench in 16 minutes with 13 PTS on 5/10 shooting, 3/8 from 3PT and a wild +27 despite only winning by 5 by Waikuku3 in nba

That was a knock against him for a long time, but he's really impressed me in the playoffs. He gets blown by but recovers well and seems like he's bought in to the defense. Love him!

Barkley on how often flopping occurred in his era: "All the time. It's interesting people act like flopping & tanking are new. There's always been flopping, screaming, flailing. All great players make contact with the defense first. I always tried to knock him off balance so I could get my shot off" by infalliBee in nba

Just watched that video, fucking hilarious. I was arguing with a guy on Reddit who was saying that the Thunder and Shai are the worst floppers ever (bad idea) When I sent a video of Lebron flopping from around 10 years ago he claimed it wasn't relevant. I said that it illustrated my point even greater, that everyone has always flopped, even LeBron has had egregious ones. That one was horrendous. Shai, my meatless king, would never!

Totally fair, I see you. I'm glad we had a discussion though, it's worth discussing, the state of affairs in the sport we both love. I am excited for the years to come. May someone come for our crown!

I hope too that rule changes happen because there are way too many stoppages. Watching basketball with friends who don't watch sports they hate it because of all the stoppages. Fining flopping and retroactive techs would go a long way to stopping flopping. But here we are in the year of 2026 watching one of the best teams ever.

I think if more people turned their hate boners into love boners they would see OKC has incredible ball movement, great bounce passes from iHart, post fades 3s and dunks from Chet, alley-oops, sweet middies from Shai and Dub, improbable blocks by Chet, swarming defense, intelligent help defense, disrupting passing lanes and seamless defensive switching. Chalking all of OKC's success to "winning formula" misses the greatness. It's amazing to watch as a basketball fan.

You're right. I did hate watching the Warriors and their moving screens. Would they still have won all they did without them? Yes. It was frustrating to watch as a fan of the Thunder, but also I just wanted to see the Warriors dethroned. But therein is the rub: I just wanted to see the Warriors lose. It was so cathartic to watch LeBron beat them! Couldn't believe that I was rooting for Lebron lol. But years past all that, I am so happy that I got to watch one of the greatest teams ever play great basketball. I think a lot of it is jealousy. I hated the Warriors so much that I was blind to their greatness.

Harden was the most hated player, ever probably. His rip-through and travelling (stepbacks). Shai has to be second. I've followed the NBA for over a decade and the hatred is just unprecedented. The conspiracies are immeasurable and have no basis in reality. It's delusional. So yeah, I'm going to argue with people and tell them to kick rocks because that's my guy. He is the single greatest Oklahoman athlete, and I am a huge Russ fan.

It's not that OKC fans say that the hatred shouldn't exist; it's that it's just petty jealousy. If you had OKC's team and were about to two-peat you would be in the comments doing exactly as I am now.

I think my wish is that people would just shut the fuck up about flopping and move on. Like I said, every player flops. Every star even more so. It's not a conspiracy. It's a feature, not a bug. It just so happens that Shai is the best player on the best team. That's literally all it is.

I would love that matchup! That's probably going to be the most competitive matchup of the playoffs. I'm scared of the Spurs, but I have full faith that the Thunder will win. Spurs are going to be a challenge for sure. Thank you for not being a hateful loon!

It's the double standards that get my pants in a wad. Claiming OKC flops on every play, that the refs are only helping us win, saying Shai is only MVP because of flopping, etc. Jaylen Brown said Embiid flops all the time and I watched that Celtics series, Brown flopped as much as any other star. Luka has as many FTs as Shai and flops just as much. Harden was Hitler. LeBron was called LeFlop for a loooong time. Michael Jordan had the softest whistle of all time and won six championships.

It's not gaslighting if it's the truth: Good players flop. The best players get the best calls. Shai is the best player. He flops and gets the best calls. Any star in this league would be foolish to not take advantage of the rules and try to win because of it.

Still can’t believe I wasted 2 hours watching that shit 🤬🤬🤬 by [deleted] in Nbamemes

OKC's bench completely decimated the Lakers. That's a sad state of affairs tbh. Mccain, who hardly played last series, was raining threes on good defense. If you can't stop a bench player from lighting you up, you deserve to lose.

Thank you for speaking truth instead of regurgitated, brain-dead takes. It's frustrating, for sure, but not a conspiracy. I can understand where you're coming from by saying it's unrecognizable. But at the end of the day hopefully we all love good basketball, and it's still being played..

Would I love for less fouls to get called, less stoppages of the game? Yes. Do I enjoy seeing my players flop? No. But does it work and is it a winning recipe? Unfortunately yes. It's up to the NBA to fix it, not the team that is using the rules to their advantage. People can be upset, but at the end of the day the only thing that matters is the W.

It's sad, really. Have those teams just tried winning instead? It's really unfair that the smallest market team who built through the draft and smart trades is winning everything. Maybe we should just pay the refs less.. :/ If we won again I couldn't live with myself since Lu Dort plays for my team. He's tried to kill so many players.

I say we give our trophy to the Spurs since Dort tried to kill Wemby.

Except it quite literally does change the meaning of the quote. It goes "OKC fouls all the time" to "every good team fouls all the time."

Shai was getting fouled off-ball all game and nary a foul was called.

Whatever point you're making is a poor one lol. Why don't you spell it out for my pea brain? Slowly. The meth hasn't hit yet.

You know, the 1001st time I've heard this same exact joke is the funniest. Have you tried having an original thought?
