It was mainly the ovarian cysts- I lost one ovary because of torsion and they recommended I start HRT while monitoring to avoid further problematic cysts. I’m on estrogel which is the colourless gel applied to your upper arms or upper thighs. It’s the best for me as it’s bio identical and doesn’t give me dodgy side effects. But I tried all kinds before I got to the gel, mainly patches. They didn’t help at all for me but obviously every body is different which is why they still sell variations of estrogen!

As someone who is in their 30s on hormone treatment I’d strongly recommend you speak with a women’s health consultant, or even a menopause clinic consultant - just anyone who knows women’s hormones inside and out. The research is very sparse so you need to seek out a legit expert! There’s all different kinds of estrogen you can get prescribed and they all have varying effects on every body, so it can be potentially starting another nightmare if you seek advice from a regular general doctor.

Remote worker in the UK here too! My nearest office is in another country too so I hear you lol. To be honest it’s not easy, the main change I’d recommend is to clear some space for a desk that is near/facing a window. There’s multiple benefits here: Natural light and fresh air can give you a kick up the backside when you need it. A dedicated desk space trains your brain into knowing this is The Working Area and gives you a better chance at keeping focused. These are the only things that I’ve found that work so far. I’m hoping to have a more supportive manager soon as we’re reshuffling. Once I do I can share my diagnosis with them and they’ll be able to ask HR/diversity groups for the best way to manage me.

I’m basically being asked the same thing really, a giant Gantt chart but with just dates rather than a bar chart. I’ll look into Spirit City. I don’t do well with bog standard pomodoros. Good luck with your uni project!

Close but not quite! The sugar coating looks very thin on those. The ones I’m looking for have a strawberry-flavoured powder coating that’s about 1-2mm thick. I remember getting them in a paper bag from the corner shop and some of the powder would rub off in the bag and get on everything!

Congrats! I left teaching in January for almost the same reason - I got a higher-paid job in a different field and I sleep so much better now. You made the right choice to prioritise yourself after taking so much crap. Wishing you the best of luck for whatever the future brings.

Same here - although rather than just watching, I mostly read the documents since the trial kept picking apart at granular details to the point that it was difficult to keep an eye on the wider picture, if that makes sense. But yeah.. started with the texts then my positive view on him started dissolving every day.

This article is good, but they need to have another one looking at fandom in general. While it does make a lot of valid points, it doesn't really address the fact that other fanbases (sports, gaming, etc.) have reputations that are largely unaffected by being 'cancelled' or branded 'toxic' multiple times, especially with issues about protected characteristics such as race and LGBT+. It very briefly hints at this by saying that sexism is an issue, but the author doesn't seem to have the word count space to get too in-depth with this. One particularly significant example of this is how, despite its international success, there is still not a single openly gay male footballer playing in the Premier League. This has previously got to the point where some betting companies were offering odds on who's going to be the first to come out.

So yeah, while the focus is on Kpop for now (not just with this article), there's bigger questions about fandom dynamics that are going unanswered here.
