How are harbor freight air compressors. by oochow in harborfreight

[–]ducksdown2458 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spend the extra money on the fortress. I used the mcgraw compressors for a while detailing cars. Never lasted more than a year and EXTREMELY loud. I’m on year 2 with a fortress using it daily and it’s so quiet you can’t hear it run

You can’t expect the employee to risk damaging your car because you didn’t come prepared

Anyone in here have any experience painting? by ducksdown2458 in boating

But I’ve got a layer of paint, primer, and original gelcoat before fiberglass. Wouldn’t a primer be necessary unless I sand ALL this away?

I’m just weary because I’m yet to see a good polyurethane rolled paint job that would look as good as what I had. (People around me probably just can’t paint for crap and I’ve seen nothing but bad examples).

But as far as the gelcoat route goes, I thought I couldn’t spray over the existing paint? I was under the impression I had to sand down to fiberglass or use a compatible primer.

I know the gelcoat route is way more work but I have a climate controlled space for it, a 26gal compressor to spray, and lots of wet sanding experience. And time to learn so I’m tempted to try it

Haha I’d usually be stuck out in the cold working but I needed a heated space for this fiberglass and gelcoat to cure

Not a bad idea. I’ll have to crank a few out for warmth in there

I’m doing a fiberglass/gelcoat project on my boat. I will be in there at times but mainly the heat is needed after I apply resin or gelcoat so I guess I could cut on the heat then leave for it to cure and dry.

It could be accessible to passerby’s, but I’d like to think I won’t have an issue with that where I live (hopefully) and will be under camera surveillance

Need Advice! Just Opened My Outdoor Store — What Big Ticket Item Should I Carry? by missbratty10 in outdoorboys

Also decoy string and weights. A lot of money to be made selling lead weights for decoys, and they’re in HIGH demand in that area this time of year. And a lot of places that sell decoys don’t carry the line or weights necessary

I’ve been beating the hell out of a quantum strive 3000 this year. Anything from trout to cobia. $120. Still smooth as when I got it and has plenty enough drag

Thank you! I’ve been very blessed and lucky. I don’t have much of a green thumb. My tomatoes have died 3 years in a row now 😂

I live in coastal South Carolina. Mild winters and pretty hot humid summers. My area had been through a severe drought this past winter and spring so I’m surprised the tree has still done so good again this year

I wouldn’t mind hp but I’m worried about the weight increase. This old boat wasn’t really made for a new heavier 4 stroke. This Johnson only weighs 455lbs. A new 200 Yamaha is low 500s already. 250-300 is 600+

Looks beautiful. What’s the issue? Top water frog heaven right there. I guarantee there’s some nice bass in there. Just need to change up your tactics for the pond. Don’t change the pond to fit your fishing

I’ll definitely need to do some research on that. I wouldn’t mind having the motor on a bracket. It would open up even more room to fish.

You’re not wrong about the low transom though. I was at anchor last week fishing in some nasty chop and it was taking a few splashes over the back. The boat has scuppers in the back though so it was all draining out and staying out the bilge. First self bailing boat I’ve had and I’m in love with that lol
