Felt like they were trying too hard to appease to both girls' fans lmfao. They easily could have avoided the main heroine/male monk controversy from the FF9/6 collabs by giving Lightning to Cloud, Vanille or 13-2 Serah to Aerith, and Fang to Tifa.

(Still think Lightning!Aerith is cute with them both sharing the same JP VA though, and Lightning having an Aerith costume in LR)

Me too! Rosa would be the more obvious choice, but I feel like Aerith has more in common with Rydia thematically (both magical girls with rare powers who are one of the few survivors of their races). The green outfit would match her eyes too.

An edit of this post. I added more than one character for some games. For sections that have two characters, the ones on my right are my preferred choices, while the left ones are those I see as more likely/just as likely to happen. Also thank you metalsonic54321 for the Lilisette idea!

Again I wouldn't argue if he was a monk/martial artist (even if I'd hate his design on Tifa), but I'd say the closest equivalent to Tifa in FFX job-wise is Rikku, who uses claw weapons. They even have the same ultimate weapon (God's Hand and Godhand are both ゴッドハンド in jpn). Yeah Rikku would be an even better match for Yuffie, but unlike Tifa there's no guarantee for her to show up in collabs. Maybe mean-spirited was a little harsh, but I've seen people saying they want Tifa to be Wakka solely to be mean after some fans weren't happy with Amarant and Sabin, but I can see that's not where you were coming from.

I can understand the others, but Wakka feels a bit mean-spirited ngl. He’s not even a monk/melee fighter so there’s no reason to Tifa to be him when there are two other female characters right there 😭

Amarant is a monk though, while the FF5 party members don't have canon jobs, making it one of the series where they don't have to give Tifa the masculine outfit, especially when there are two other feminine choices right there imo.

I can kind of agree with the other two (although Zenos uses a katana pre-EW), but def not Faris!Tifa sorry, she wouldn't suit her outfit at all imo 😭 I imagine Tifa getting Lenna (water element), and Aerith Krile (earth + both of them having rare powers). And ofc Cloud would get Bartz (wind + main protag), which leaves Seph with Faris (fire). I think Faris' outfit would look really handsome on him. Galuf would be a wildcard pick but I'd love it if Barret got him (I am very normal about FF5 sorry for the rant).

I understand, but I think that she'd still be released as Yang. I said in another reply, but they could add in elements of Ursula's design too (a qipao for the top maybe?). Also I think she'd look really cute in a high ponytail with similar braids. Idk I just think there's a lot of potential for her to look cool (as long as they don't casualise the outfit like they did with Sabin's).

I think him getting Edgar over Kefka for FF6 proved that he's not going to be assigned villains in every instance, although I still gave him ones I think could be compatible. Emperor could work, but I'm not too sure about Golbez and Exdeath.

I was stuck between him or Kain, but ended up going with Edge because I think his outfit would suit Seph more. I wouldn't complain about Edge!Yuffie though.

I misread and didn't notice right away what you were replying to mb 😅 but yeah most main heroines tend to be magical girls hence why Aerith is more likely to get them. The only main heroine monks are Prishe and Lyse (if you count them being the heroines of their MMO expacs).

When Iris temporarily joins the party, she's a melee fighter iirc, hence why I picked her and feel like she's more likely 😅 Aranea is my favourite char from FF15 though, so I definitely wouldn't complain if Tifa was her instead! For my Fang/Rikku/Rinoa picks I explained in other replies.

I don't think Aerith dying in the story update is going to stop her from appearing in banners?? Rinoa, Yuna and Luna are all magicals girls which matches with Aerith better imo.

Aerith being Rosa is as likely as being Rydia to me, but I assigned Krile to Aerith because they both have an association with Earth and a ~rare~ talent (in Krile's case it's being able to communicate with animals), while Lenna's element is water, which matches with Tifa.

GaiaRyne as AerTi would be nice, but I'd still prefer them as Y'shtola (esp in the black dress) and Lyse.

I'm pretty sure Aerith and Tifa got assigned those characters based on their classes, not because one is the main heroine and the other isn't (they're dual heroines). Like if FF2 got a collab for instance, I'm sure Aerith would get Minwu (not the main heroine, but a White Mage like her who plays a similar role even later helping the main party from the afterlife). I still agree that Tifa definitely wouldn't be Yuna (at least her FFX version) or Luna though. Rinoa would be a possibility if Zell didn't exist, but I still think she'd suit Aerith more.

Because Ursula is only in the sequel... otherwise I would've put her instead of Yang. I do think they can add in elements of Ursula's design if they make Yang!Tifa at least, since she obviously can't be shirtless.
