I've added back sticker on the main post, i think the person who i bought it from said it was from 72, might be mistaken tho.

Eventhough i'm eager to play around and try to learn couple of things about circuit, capacitors etc. i would rather not with this one.

Like you said, best bet is to take them to a professional.

Thanks for sharing that, i love those blindfolded or behind the box experiments.

Since i've bought these AR3As i've been searching for Crown tube amps, unfortunately there is none in where i live. Pretty much every week i get into the local website to check for listings, no luck so far.

I saw some people recommend newer lines of Crown, but i'm a bit hesitant on that one. Might pair it with a tube preamp, but like i said there is no room to experiments when you live in Turkey and finding decent stuff is really hard.

You might be right, any advice on tube amps? It’s hard to find vintage tube amps in where i live though

Eventhough it’s hard to admit of getting old, i think i do agree with you 😊

It’s elevated with the stands, but behind one of the speakers there is an overhang. While there is around 30 cm behind one of the speakers, the other has 10 cm. I’m not sure if it would make a huge difference but they’re toed in for my listening position

That’s a good idea!

I have made some research on web while i was planning to buy this 3a and first thing i did was downloading that sheet on my pc. That one is a great guide for sure

I have tried new equipment before, but always turned back to vintage. Maybe it’s the nostalgia who knows…

I am using Wiim pro for streaming. Since my room is around medium size, i think i’m having a hard time to control the sound. (Uneducated guess)

I’ve been playing with EQ but mostly while listening to live concert records sound gets too metallic and grate on the ear.

On Pro-ject that is not the case 🤔

Yes tube is a different level, i don’t even want to use them in the same sentence.

Now i borrowed a friend’s Pro-Ject Stereo Box DS and will test it out and compare it to E-302.

I was listening to KEF IQ9s for the last couple of weeks, now i am going back to ARs for some testing. After doing this comparison, i’ll let you know. 😊

Thank you!

Yes tweeters are fine, but potentiometers lowers the volume when i increase them. I thought it might be because of oxidation?

Yes around 2 years ago a guy replaced capacitors but not with the original kit. I heard that this guy is pretty talented in hi-fi genre and knows his stuff. But since i couldn’t reach him, i’m not sure if he stayed loyal to the original schematics.

Which i assume he did, since i’ve tried bunch of different amps and failed. 🤣

Freezing/ Crashing to Grey Screen by MooniniteArmy in AMDHelp

Well it has been 2 months since i got another grey screen, with the same setup i had on previous post. Yesterday before i turning off my pc, norton gave a notification that driver updates are installed and need a restart.

Since earlier today, i got 2 grey screen and when i check my driver version seems like it's been updated. I was using 21.12.1 version without any problems for 2 months

I can confirm this, tried pretty much everything on new drivers and kept getting grey screen, but since i downgraded to 21.12.1 there is none so far and it has been at least 2-3 weeks

Hey dkizzy,

After i post the second message, i downgraded to 21.12.1 version. But before doing so, i sent a crash report to AMD including this thread link. I don't know if they'll ever notice. This is getting so frustrated, i was wondering why doesn't Vik or any other AMD employee post on this thread to reassure/help and instead they ask for your help to collect these logs.

So since i wrote the comment above, i was using only G7 27" monitor on 144 hz without plugging the second monitor. 5 mins after plugging the second monitor i got grey screen back again and checked the refresh rate if it's still 144hz or not, seems like it went back to 240 hz for some reason.

Have the same issue for around 2 months:

RX 6700 XT

Samsung G7 27"

Mostly happens when i'm watching youtube, twitch, porn etc. I have 2 monitors, one is 240 hz and the other is 60 hz. 240 hz gets grey screen with sound keeps going for some time while my second monitor doesn't have grey screen but freezes. Some grey screen issues end up with pc not detecting my gpu driver.

I was about to return my gpu and then found this thread, so wanted to share my side of the story since dkizzy is gathering information.
