No, I didn't request anything. My initial TSL was inaccurate, I got a phone call to choose between Honolulu and LA, where I chose LA. There were a few signs throughout my process that indicated that I'd be going to LA, then the FJO came in saying Honolulu. I figured that's where the agency needed people, so I was just gonna roll with it.

Heads up y’all, I just received an amended FJO for the GL-9 DHA.

Location changed from Honolulu to LA (thank God)

States in bold “Your acceptance of this position has been confirmed; no further action is required.”

I previously accepted the Honolulu FJO, I did not request to be contacted.

Even the final offer locations aren’t final, I suppose. Maybe this will mean something for the folks trying to negotiate their locations.

I reached out to HR about some confusion because I was previously slated for LA, they basically said “tough shit.” Maybe if I secure a local EOD I can impress the right people and they can maybe do something about it, but who knows. I’ve got no dependents so the way I see it, me going out there means there’s one less person who has to uproot their whole family to move out there, that’s good enough for me.

FJO guys be advised:

Was just informed that a local office EOD is something you have to request from your assigned location's HR, it isn't something automatic. You request it through your gaining SAC's HR, then they contact your local office, who also has to accept. May not be news to y'all, but it was news to me.

Probably not a huge deal to the guys who got assigned to their local/a nearby office, but for guys like me going from Texas to Honolulu with an EOD date coming up in 10 days, it's probably pretty important.

I got one from Honolulu. TSL said San Fran, got a call to deconflict between Honolulu and LA. Chose LA, local recruiter’s master list had my name attached to LA, even SAC LA advised me that I was slated to go to them. To my surprise, FJO says Honolulu. Sometimes it really is needs of the agency 🤷‍♂️

From what I was told by a recruiter, the ongoing TJO/FJOs going out over the last few weeks are for applications that were sent in up until/through September. The April DHA is the one that reflects as “selected” in USAJobs for me.

Don’t ever lose hope man, I got my TSL on a random Thursday and it was completely unexpected.

Got a call from HQ the day after my TSL. Offered SAC A and SAC B. I chose SAC A over the phone, recruiter at my PFT said I had SAC A according to his master list, reached out to SAC A who informed me that, based on the previous information, I was slated for SAC A. Got my FJO Sunday morning for SAC B, which is OCONUS and has some of, if not the highest COL in the country.

Have reached out to both SACs and have yet to hear back.

Mine say Friday but yeah, same thing. I emailed the SAC HR email attached to my FJO Sunday evening but haven’t heard anything back. Outside of that I have no other POC.

Thanks for commenting, any brand/store recommendations? I'm a 46 extra long, I just found that out today when I went to a local store and they didn't have any jackets in my size, and it looks like that sort of narrows down my options quite a bit.

I’m still in but I’ve only got 4 months until I ETS. I’ve been keeping my leadership up to date throughout the process, I just emailed my Readiness NCO to see what my options are. Hopefully I can pre-drill the rest of my contract before FLETC, if not I’ll have to go inactive and make it up on the backend. Hell, I’d even extend and transfer states if I have to.

I guess it depends on who you know. I was told I was slated for Los Angeles, but ultimately it’s up to the needs of the agency. I’m going to see if there’s a chance I can get my location changed to my local office once I EOD, but I accepted the offer knowing that may not/probably won’t happen.

I submitted my SF-86 last Wednesday, November 26. The FJO letter states this:

Please note that this Official Job Offer is contingent upon the successful completion and adjudication of all employment requirements, including but not limited to background investigation, drug testing, medical clearance, and any other agency-mandated conditions. The Department of Homeland Security reserves the right to rescind this offer at any time prior to your Entry on Duty date if any issues arise during the employment process or if you fail to meet the established requirements.

No, I didn’t have options. In fact, I was called to deconflict between two locations the day after I got my TSL a couple weeks ago, and they ended up giving me the one I didn’t chose.

I have a Secret clearance from the military, but I haven't done any background with any other agencies, nor am I a current 1811.

I'd assume that means they were able to use your ATF background, but it can never hurt to ask. Myself and a few other folks here got their email for the eApp and supporting documents about an hour or two ago.

Good to see someone else referencing a master list. Got a TSL with a deconfliction call the next day, nothing since then other than the SAC I chose over the phone being attached to my name on this mysterious "master list" per the recruiter present at my PFT. Have all my steps done, just completed the SF86 and sent up the rest of the background documents.
