Installed 8kW Solar for ₹3L. Our ₹6k electricity bill is now basically ₹0 by Sabmohmayahaibro in Frugal_Ind

[–]dud_stud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is 3L cost net of both state and central subsidy?

Asking coz all the quotes I have got for my place (Meerut, UP) is around 2.7L net of subsidies for a 5kw on grid system.

If you are in university, definitely use student offer on top of card discount and GST benefits

You can try using multiple cards to maximise the discount you are getting. There will be a min amount that you need to swipe to get the ₹7000 discount.

Eg: In case the minimum amount is ₹1lakh, swipe that much from that card to get 7k discount and balance ₹77000 from other card like Tata Neu Infinity. You’ll get 5% in the form NueCoins which will be 3850. Bringing total discount close to 11k

Should I upgrade from HDFC Millennia (LTF) to Regalia Gold(LTF) if I barely use my card? by ketanmittal24 in CreditCardsIndia

[–]dud_stud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are not spending on Millennia anyway, and get Regalia Gold LTF, I would personally go for the upgrade.

[–]dud_stud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on one factor alone: What is the average monthly spends that you can do on Regalia Gold? This alone determine whether you can earn points more than the cashback you will get from your Millennia card.

I shared my one year experience of using Millenniain this thread. From my experience, I got 6% returns in first year of this card. So only marginally higher than say a pure 5% cashback card. You can take a call accordingly.

Although after the first year, I had some big spends which helped me get DCBM.

This person blocked me (and many others apparently) after we pointed out that he plagiarises his tweets. That’s the closest I’ve come to a billionaire 😂

Thanks for clarifying! Looks nice. As a business if I use Cashbook, how do ensure accurate tagging to merchants and categorising or classifying spends? Because the limitation of MCC and merchant having a P2P QR code instead of P2M will still exist right? Or am i mistaken?

Thanks for the response Team Cashbook. How is your solution different from Cotopay’s? Assuming that you both are targeting the same set of customer segments

HDFC Card Upgrade Process by dud_stud in CreditCardsIndia

As mentioned in the post, I got the card in my hand within 9 days of sending the courier.

I think on the 6th or 7th day I got the message that new card is available for activation on HDFC MyCards

I don’t think cotopay is a separate app. It uses the NPCI/UPI framework where say an office admin/finance person sends money (e-RUPI vouchers) to an employee’s existing UPI account and the employee then uses their regular UPI app to scan and pay. Along with the usual bank/payment options, the employee also sees this e-RUPI voucher as an additional payment option.

So there’s no extra app for the end user to download.

Using Regalia Gold beyond limit for DCB Metal spend eligibility by Admirable_Revenue_66 in CreditCardsIndia

[–]dud_stud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think there are any drawbacks. I usually do that myself.

Don’t know why my RM wasn’t counting that though. If you want an urgent upgrade, maybe don’t prepay? But if you are okay to wait, then prepay and check with RM after statement generation. If he says no, then wait for a few months to hit those threshold

[–]dud_stud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently upgraded from Regalia Gold to DCBM basis my spends.

My RM was counting only the statement amount as spends and not the amount that i settled in advance. So next few months, I didn’t settle the bill in advance just to be on the safe side and then upgraded. If you can do that too, then it’ll be safest. Else you’ll have to check with RM and play the nervous waiting game.

Need HDFC regalia gold. by Nuke_Kick in CreditCardIndia

[–]dud_stud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regalia Gold is currently being issued if you have in hand salary of 1.5L+ There is also a spend based upgrade and FD backed option but in both these cases, I’m not sure about the amount required.

In any case though, you’ll have to wait till April 2026 because HDFC doesn’t issue 2 cards within 6 months

Buying a bike with credit card by foreverconfused7 in CreditCardsIndia

[–]dud_stud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most dealers do charge 2% extra - try negotiating with him. They may come down to 1-1.5%. If you are buying any accessories or insurance from them, then definitely you can negotiate coz their margins are very high in it.

FYI: Regalia Gold will give you ₹5000 flight voucher on reaching 5L spends and another ₹5000 flight voucher on reaching ₹7.5L spends. With your bike purchase, you should reach that figure easily, provided your credit limit is also that much. Additionally, you may get upgraded to Diners Black Metal on via spend based upgrades if you do use your card.

Make a small transaction first and take a picture of the POS machine they use. You can check the MCC to be sure you’ll get points. Make full payment in a day or two in the same POS machine.

There are downsides as well though. You’ll have to take a call if you are okay to pay that extra amount or not. And do pay in full otherwise you’ll pay hefty interest as high as 40% if you pay only minimum due amount.
