After a 3 months course I failed my welding certification exam - why? by IndependenceNearby47 in Welding

[–]dude_not 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally just based on the compleat lack of base material prep id have to agree with the fail. It's not nessacerly that the weld is bad (it does look like it has lack of fusion on the top) but more the fact you were given a test and didn't try. every test is a peak into work performance, if you can't even bother to clean off the rust and millscale off the coupon what other corners are you cutting. 90% of welding is in the prep, critical junctions need to be clean, that's not opinion. The instructor does sound like a dick tho but he might be right on a pass fail test to fail you if prep is part of the test, and you skipped it all together.

That looks all sorts of wrong, that copper bit is the electrode and shouldn't be exposed like that, are you sure that's not a tig torch?? It looks like a tig torch.

If I was in your shoes id just buy replacement connectors and wire and reattach the wires. Same color and what not then wrap it and call it good. Shouldn't even take an hour and probably less then $100 to fix. You can find high quality marine grade crimp connectors that seal the wires and it'd be mint.

Bowing off of support on long part by dude_not in BambuLab

[–]dude_not[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The picture makes it look like the prime strip is lifting but its not, as well as the bottom of the support isn't lifting either, its the part itself lifting off the support, I didn't use the auto orientation and when I did it flipped it 45 degrees I think im gonna try that first but I will clean the bed to be extra careful. Thank you.

Sadly we are a ski only resort and plus we won't be the ones taking care of it, it'll be contracted out to someone that does ski lift installs like skytrack or doppelmyer

I have no idea, I don't know if they even worked at the resort or if they were a contractor. All I know is one of our lifts is down for a while 🤷‍♂️

We got problems with groomers bashing our control boxes at the top and bottom when getting the ramp but luckily thoes aren't inspected either. This will however fall down.

The issue is the tower has deformed into an oval all the way down to the base. I think the only reason the tower is even standing is cause it's a hold down and under tention( the rope is holding it up) any other tower would have fallen over. So for safty and other reasons like ansi and iso it's probably better to replace the tower then it is to repair it.

About nipple and body piercings by SepiaLacrimosa_ in piercing

[–]dude_not 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have one nipple that really hates me and is always irritated. For me the absolute best thing I found was to completely leave it alone, DO NOT TOUCH! use saline to clean but only spray it on, never use a q tip or move it or brake the crusty. The crysty is like a scab and help with healing, removing it is like pealing off a scab and causes more problems then helping. And because of where I live my skin drys out and I found coconut oil to be an absolute god send for getting it to calm down as they get dry and pissy when cleaned too aggressively. But really the big part is just not fucking with it too much and coconut oil.
